hello everyone!

here are a few pics of my working bench and the current
status of the 1/350 scratchbuilt Saipan-project. Acutally my working bench is located in a
small room unter the roof of our house of 1,5 metres lengh and 1,1 metreswide. It is more like a Spitfire or 109 cockpit. ..!!

I call it the "I-like-myself-room" (Ich-mag-mich-Zimmer). As you can see, it needs a cleanup. The kit stsh is stored somewhere else in the house. My stash is small - about a dozen boxes only -

but as you all know, I like it big.

So it hasTrumpeteres Nimitz and Franklin in it, all in350-scale, and a fewdestroyers and frigates I hopefully will build one day.
There are some more pics added that show the hangar deck of my Saipan. It s
finished by now and I did already install the flightdeck, as you can see on
the workbench pics. All the multicolour details are now hidden in a gloomy
dark.

Hello Everybody,

let me introduce myself as new member on this board with a look onto my workbench. My Name is Peter, I am from Germany and I'm collecting and building shipmodels in 1:1250 scale since 1967. My special interest belongs to the Royal Navy roughly unti 1945. But there are also a lot Warships from other countries and Civil Ships in my collection. After a long break (two months, way too long!!), I'll resumed modelling today. No pictures yet of my workbench, but here you some from last summer, at the HQ (my lady's home). Just the dining room, and sorry, but no ships at all, and with a good reason for that! No true MW-fan would spoil a modelship teaching his girlfriend how to cut, glue and paint.

I concur! That has to be the best model I've seen on this forum.

You are one lucky guy to have a girlfriend who puts up with our antics! My wife only laughs & walks away when I ask if she'd want to assist me.

Here is my modest workdesk in the Shanghai apartment that I currently reside in. Don't ask me how I expect to get this 1.5m long Yamato up & down 11 floors using the small elevator outside my flat...

Am certainly looking forward to October when I move to my new house with a proper hobby room / workshop!

Hey Guys! Here is my sanctuary. Above the garage at the new house here in Florida. Main shop is 12 x 17 feet with an additional 4 x 6 foot room and a full bath. This was an empty room when we moved in. Photos are paning around the room from left to right. Note Indiana underway..... The table it sits on is wheeled and can rotate 360 degrees around the shop. It is also dead level. If I had a microwave and a refrigerator, I could stay up here for days I also have separate heat and a/c functions from the rest of the house. It is quite comfortable. I wish it were a bit bigger, but I'll take it as is! Check it out...............

I really got to build something for myself one of these years!! Yes, you could get hundreds of 1/700 scale ships in here!! My problem is, I'm not even happy with 1/200! I got the LSS disease,- Large Scale Syndrome,- no cure.............

Sorry I missed you last month while in the States - had only 3 personal days out of 17 & am sorry that I hadn't called while in JAX. I'll be in touch with you before my next trip scheduled for early March.

PS - My Yamato is coming along nicely after following your build review. Am taking a break while I wait for Loren Perry's PE sets to arrive before I get DEEP into the detail. Akizuki & Yukikaze will immediately follow with all ships based on Oct '44 SHO-GO Campaign period. I'll need new glasses by the time this project is over!

I work at two places in the basement .

One is my "machining" shop , with all the modern equipment ( bandsaw , jigsaw , lathe ) & it is also used as a storage place , well , sort of ...





and this is the place , still in the basement , with full day light , where I do my more "clean" jobs ...



Left of that table , is my girlfriend's table , where she paints on furnitures ( no picture ) , so we spend a lot of evenings together , after supper , I model & she paints , with a good classic music as background ...

We throwed the television away three years ago , it was completely toasted anyway , and we both decided to stay as long as we could without television ( such a stupid waste of time , anyway ) ...

Reminds me of my Elco lathe... Hmmm, I'm itching to buy a drill press....

your right, it DOES make me want to cry!

you desperately need more room there mate! But where you lack in space, you make up for in humor and creativity LOL
