That's might impressive and fine detailing!

Where did you get all of the storage cabinets? I looked but never ran across any.
Thankfully Pontos provides all the cabinets! It's really good bang for the buck as it's really extensive leaving only the small details to me.
So far pretty acurate too even though it's always best to consult reference first!

Fantastic work! Sharp and precise in every detail!
It looks like a complete model in it's own right...
Cheers,

That's what I just thought. Clocking well over what you would spend on some OOB armor build.
Better not even think about how many parts in total...

Yep!
I've done 1/35 armour diorama's, scratchbuilt figure vignettes and boxed dioramas in the past, but ship models have proven to be the most time-consuming
by far.
Or is it just those big battleships and carriers?

Only small work on the Missouri this weekend.
I attended Nordic challenge model show today here in Finland. Last time I brought a model to a show was back in 2004 so it was long time due.
I brought my Uss James E Williams to the show and it was recieved amazingly well!
I placed 1st in ship class and also got named Best Ship, Best of Show and Best Model chosen by IPMS Finland.
About 350 models were in the contest (not many ships though) and the quality of all the models amazed me.
Standing proudly!
More pics will prolly come up in the following days here!

Most impressive work! Im following this build very closely. It seems there are many parts in your Pontos kit that are not in mine!

Take note Pontos has different sets for the Iowa class. I'm using the newest advanced set for the Missouri + some infini parts and also a lot of spare PE and scratch build items!

Congrats on the awards!
The fact that there are 4 of them shows that they are surely well deserved. And that's no surprise: it is a very well rounded model (great detailing, great painting) with a very high level of finesse.

The result: an amazing looking model!

beautiful work!
I am sorry if you have already answered this, but what colors are you using for the vertical surfaces to simulate the haze grey and horizontal surfaces for deck grey?
Thanks, man! Keep up the awesome work!

Good stuff m8!
The new phone camera is nice, but I can see why you're worried about different image quality. The coloration does seem to be a bit warm (as opposed to the previous one, which was neutral to slightly cool), with the black of the funnel a little on the dark side (heh). Of course, that latter concern could just be due to the fact that you haven't yet dry-brushed the funnel cap itself. I'm no photography expert, but those are my "at a glance" observations.
Hope that helps...
