Hi there Triumph and all,
Excellent update. Your rigging is awesome, and as I have built the same model, same scale, I know what garden you are getting into.
Nice going, and best regards from this side,
Willie.

Lampshade risers or "finials" are often used:

Its amasing how these stuff are difficult to get...in the US...no problem but then you get blown away by shipping costs...in EU...nobody has ...incredible

Hi there Triumph68 and all friends,
No spanking at all. Only a wish of being useful after the efforts I can see behind this model.
Triumph68 wrote:I had to do the second lines for the flag ropes... now they can function
They won`t, as they are not placed in the same wheel, but to solve this problem is again the easiest thing ever: cut thin slices of rod (I used Evergreen, but any rod will be OK), and set them in place. This :
Then add lines of stretched sprue, and glue them on
both sides of the rod slices, only on the top, as the loose ends can be inserted in the bars of the flag boxes. And thats all. Done. This is exactly Revell flushdecker 1/240 scale, your same model:
Second method is to make sets of rod slices and stretched sprue lines, and set them in place when finished.
Even at this relatively big scale, this easy solution will go virtually unnoticed, and the results are very convincing. This is a OHP frigate at 1/300., and the effect is again very convincing:
I hope this can be of some use, and very best regards from this side,
Willie.[/size]

They won`t, as they are not placed in the same wheel,
I'll make a closer pic on top part so you can see...mine are 2 on same wheel...only my wheels are way smaller than yours, the wheels used for this purpose on real ships are very small..to me yours are out of scale ..way too big.
on real ship pictures you hardly see them so small they are, as they don't need to carry heavy weight.
this picture is about max they go

this leads me to a since long for me open question...if the black arrow are the wheels for the flag lines...what are the 6 stuff op top indicated with red arrow...they are not above the flag top wheels
anybody knows?

txs chuck, I hope I can get some ideas for ya
worked a little on rear as well.... mainly missing...2 middelcastle 4" guns....a few extra's and some more center riggings
lets say she is 99.3% done
btw...I used a bigger wheel on this rear flag pole ( on witch you find the stars and stripes) as she also sometimes had to do lifting service for rear castle

I hate to nitpick at this point in your build, but I'm pretty sure that USS SOMERS (DD-301) had a "Poole" 3-in/23cal gun and not a 3-in/50cal gun installed on the fantail as you have.
I have a lot of images of the Flush-Deckers and they all had the smaller Poole 3-in/23cal gun or similar guns (as completed). And that includes the two images of SOMERS I do have. None carried the 3-in/50cal guns until the 1940-41 ASW mod rearming with six 3-in/50cal guns replacing the four 4-in guns and two of the torpedo tubes banks.
