The beast building steams on!
What ship are you on? I'm off to Balikpapan in June.
I'd like to come view Yamato sometime if it's convenient for you.

Dave

Hi Mick!
Things going slowly -not much sanding done -but work on tower proceeding
Good job on the link hey!
heres the latest 0very much a work in progress -not sanded properly or anything -so the putty looks terrible -but i think its worth while sometimes to see something not finished so we can see it afterwards finished.

Re: 1/72 Yamato - or a steep learning curve!
OK, this build is called a steep learning curve.
Advice needed!
The first layer of glass is sanded pretty good -I do have a few air holes and imperfections to fill -and as soon as funds permit, will begin to bogg them up.
On the iron duke build top of forum -the entire hull has been bogged with "filla"
Is that -I've covered the entire hull with filla, or something else?
I am in 2 minds, to cover entire hull with bog and sand, or to fill imperfections with bog -sand, and add a second layer of resin then sand again, with any more filla as required.
Advice greatly appreciated!

Hi, Put your filla on and sand , any imperfections put some more filla on that area and sand till you have a nice smooth hull. im watching ARH
PS. Have a look at Moffett , page 3

looking good ,what kind of filler are you useing,i used bondo auto body filler on my roma,it is very nice to work with better than hobby shop stuff,it makes lots of dust when sanding though.i also use it as a sealer on wood that i am not going to sheet.

Hiya all, Hebie had a great mornings work at my place and while he was here I managed to take a few pictures.
In the first image you can see part of my model which has come to a halt due to lack of funds but hope shortly to restart.

This is going to be one hell of a ship when it hits the water.

The superstructure certainly looks complex to build, curves within curves . Looking good .
