Nope.I m living in multiple dimensions. In all of them my hobby is scale modelling ---->1/700 postwar.

Seriously I had those 4 kits started in July but i changed my building schedule due to summer vacation and one unepected gift from my GF. This was JAGs stealth carrier. I wanted to finish it ASAP.

BTW fantastic work on your Iowa. I can t find words to describe how good your work is .Maybe its refit time for my NJ after i finish JFK.

After appying a coat of primer gray, a few very rough flaws have appearred that I'm disappointed about. A little divot in teh fighting top that I can easily fill and sand, but the fretting on the bridge below it (that I made with pieces of brass rod) turned out mushy with globs of CA that I couldn't see before the paint. That little bridge roof is kind of rough as well.

I think that I'm going to live with the flaws, here. As long as you don't get too, close they are barely noticable. The rest of the model is turning out all right, so far. Before a coat of paint, anyway.

At least the fighting top area is more accurate than the original kit was. That bugged me a lot on my first build of the identical Trumpeter kit.

I'm pleased with how the details on the aft stack turned out after the primer.

Sorry about the mishap there Carl. Maybe a blade and sandpaper could fix at least some of the bigger flaws. The bad thing is that even if you cant see it with your eyes every time you take a pic these flaws will show. It appears that digital cameras focus automatically on details a thus on flaws.

Some photos of JMSDF LPD-4002 Shimokita. One of the most complete plastic kits i ve ever seen.It contains not only the parts of the ship but 2 FACs, 4 LCACs, 4 helos and lots of vehicles.

Really good HMS York , I have got all four in my collection from the Manchester Class.

Carl, for the imperfections the Iowa is still stunning!

Nektarios-stunning as usual. It is a shame that some of the best 'extras' that come in kits are rarely sold as stand alone products-things like Dragons European Equipment set, Tamiyas Helos and FACs, Dragons Merlins etc etc.

ASFC in case you need some European equipment sets i have several of those (with some missing parts of course).
If you want i could send you the parts you need or all the fret because i have more than a dozen frets and i don t think i ll use more than a couple of those.

This weekend, I saw a 1/144 LCAC at a local model contest. I may have to build one of those. The one I saw was nicely done! Trumpeter, I think it is.

Tamiya make both the Shimokita and her older sister the Ohsumi.

As it was answered before Tamiya does Shimokita and her sister but if you intend to buy this class buy Shimokita because the oshumi kit contains fewer parts and doesn t contain parts for the vehicle deck and other minor stuff like vehicles 2 SH-60-Js the 2 FACs etc...

The LCAC looks good in 1/144 but what about an LCAC in 1/72.
