Yendys after my Richelieu , I will make two or three freighters and after a Strasbourg or a Dunkerque in scratch at 350em. but with time I put to make a project .......
After a last checking on my diorama , than I needed make crates larger volumes ,and stackings steel pipes
so here are the masters of crates





the largest to scale would do 3m x 2m x 1.20m
then the big steel pipes (diameter 80cmx 6m)



and to finish the small pipes



the small family



all are ready to be molded and hoping that everything going to pull out good of the elastomer

Hello gentlemen

continued work on the Richelieu is situated on the oblique reinforcements of railings.
to begin ,make a cutting jig, for cut off reinforcements to the same length (3.5)



then, without trembling, paste one by one on railings





only a side is finished ....very stressful for nerves
work continues

When I need a large number of equally sized parts I use the depth probe of my caliper and my chopper:



You can set the setup quickly in the right position and you only have to write down the distance if you want to make more later. Very accurate (<0.1mm error, correcting for the usual offset in the setup).

Good detailing--very sharp

In 1/700 I use stretched sprue--as it is easy to glue with liquid cement and gives a very clean break--and is a thin as you might ever want

in 1/350 I use PE brass longitudinals ( horizontal wires) thinnest PE possible ( WEM RN 1/350 always worked well for this. )

cut across 3 or 4 bar PE handrail--this gives easy cutting with sharp scissors without measuring

as you can gauge the length needed from how close to the etched stanchion you are


admittedly-- I have not added them with the frequency that you require here.... ( crazy but good! )

I attacked the second deck by the handrails installation. each "foot" is pierced (is placed temporarily) the 100 mm platforms with the amunition chests are instaled definitively





towards the rear , the laders are placed temporarily ,to show the changes made in Dakar during his long stay in quay

Basically, Photobucket wants Nick to fork over some cash for more bandwidth, so he can keep sharing his photos. It happened to me once, so I stopped using it for what I was doing at that time (flight sim skin painting) and started uploading them to the site instead.

Yes, that's what it is. I have my own Web-space and it costs me around less than the equivalent of a glass of (cheap) wine (or beer for the anglo-saxons) a month and I am in full control

Uploading to MW is a bit more work as the uploading is a bit cumbersome and you can only place 200kB images; at the benefit of free hosting

Clicking the images also requires me to turn off my aggressive add blocker that hates photobucket for some reason... probably because it's all adds?

Photobucket and image shack et al are guilty of ruining many a valuable older thread-- build or otherwise


even threads such as " how do you display your models "--or "show us your workbench"

have great yawning gaps in them due to photobuckets and image shack etc etc auto-deleting after two or three years
or other causes

real shame if one wishes to refer to a build thread 4 years down the line....

Foeth summed it up perfectly--uploading to the MW site takes a bit longer longer-

-but it does have some inherent degree of continuation and permanence !

Jim and EJFoeth I follow your advice now and I try with pictures of my Richelieu castle indeed he fell to the floor during manipulation ....a great loneliness moment but after stupor , repairs , to obtain the original state(with some details in addition )
the castle with some broken pi�ces
and from back
no trace of the disaster

the next steps very quickly
