I never had visual info this good even with the books that I bought.
On my MAC computer if attempt to add a photo to a file that is a duplicate it pops
up a message telling me that it is a duplicate.

How far does the bullwarks stick up above the deck?
I cannot find that.
Is it just flat plate or does it have a pipe welded on the top edge?

I sure would like a measurement on that bullworks.
It looks like 6 inches with a 2 inch diameter tube on top of it.
Can you imagine 887 feet of welding X 4!

And I'm looking for some shots of the whole hull (starboard side). I'm interested in the arrangement of the drain pipes, small details and strengthening plates, I'm working of the USS New Jersey. Doing a paper plan of all the details on the hull, could share if you give me a help.

Make sure to look at the area of BB-63's deck where she was being re-planked and at the display showing how the deck was laid over the years.

What is the black waterline line height on the modern New Jersey? Is it the same like in WWII 4 foot tall or?

I would just make it the same.
Unless you are building a waterline model. Then the ship will sit higher in the water and the extra
high water line may look wrong.

Matter of fact I would make it in such a way as to enhance the looks of the model.

I'm doing a full hull version, never liked waterlines.

The thing is that I found this photo: http://www.pearlharbortours.us/blog/wp- ... rnized.jpg of the Missouri in dry dock during the 1985. You can clearly see that the waterline goes from 28ft to 37ft (natural DWL of the Iowa class)

In the Floating Drydock book it says: "(...) with a four foot black boot topping." I guess that the WWII waterline line was from 37ft to 33ft.


We see that a modern Missouri has a 9ft high waterline stripe, so my question is if the New Jersey also had a 9ft stripe during the 1982 modernization?
