Thanks, Simon! But, I don't understand your statement of hammer and whif-bashing, and "hasn't arrived just yet". What do you mean?

I have modified the bridge deck area and detailed it with railings and ladders and also detailed the deck above the bridge with white lockers. Still more work to go, in this area.

My ship hasn't arrived at the LHS just yet - I ordered it through my LHS, and it hasn't arrived to him yet.

As to the hammer part, ignore that, whif-bashing, what-if kitbashing.

if i saw the pics you posted above in B/W i wouldn t know which ones are of the ship and which are of the kit.

Hint: Mine would be the one without the gun mounts.

Getting the Trumpy Missouri so I can whif it as a 2002 refit and modernization. You sent me parts for it - the single 5" gun turrets, the Mk 41 VLS... Nektarios provided some AEGIS plates that are going to be featured in the build as well. Replacing the ABL's with some VLS, adding AEGIS, replacing the old 5"/38's with 5"/54 singles... should promise to be interesting.

No, at least, not in this current plan. I haven't a supplier of sheet styrene yet, and I already have one hybrid construct idling currently, so I am opting instead, currently for pure battleship, modernized. I'll do the heavy assault conversion another time, perhaps.

Carl, great looking ship! Didn't I read that you wanted to build one ship from every class? How many ships are you still missing?

I have more to go, than I have completed.

My next one will be DDG-102 USS Sampson, and then USS Coontz.

Tomahawks and CIWS added and made a change to the fantail and helo pad deck colors (Grimey Black and Engine Gray).

Any comments, opinions, or advice on the aft deck colors? How's it look? I'm tied between the Skywave instructions' rendition and photos of the modern Iowa. I don't see such of a contrast in the aft deck sections in real photos, as the instructions point out.

For the colours you mention i think that none of the two options is wrong.

I m not building anything these days since i m having some insomnia problems. I ll have to build some 1/700 sheeps
and count them.

The only thing I would suggest is maybe tone down the red firehoses a bit - otherwise, looking great!

Carl, I'd suggest the darker colour, it just looks better in all truth. The firehoses could probably use to be dulled down a little, but by the same token they ARE meant to be seen in the event of things going wrong... so it's half and half...

Thanks for your input, Simon and Timmy C! I am reconsidering the color on the aft deck. Kidcurrie42 sent me some better photos of this area. I plan to put on a dark wash, towards the end, and it should tone down the fires hose color (orange and red). A flat clear coat will help, as well, I think.
