Some more Essex class photos this time Korean war era.

Some photos of my friends work. This time a "modernised" Lafayette class frigatte.

Something different this time, Soviet/Russian stuff. Kombrig Moskva class helicopter carrier. An early Kombrig kit not to the standards of later kits from this company.

No this is L' Arsenal kit(resin) which is superb. The Bronco one is very good too. You should get it.

There was a Lafayette moored next to us when we pulled into Singapore. They are indeed very sleek looking, especially compared to an OHP FFG (which I was on at the time).

Yes they are but Lafayette has been designed almost 2 decades later so it is logical to look like that.

Here are some photos of the LPD-4 and LSD-36 from Jag. These were the first Jag ships i ever made and it was a real pleasure to do them. Having bad experiences with resin models previously (other manufacturers) i thought it was gonna take a lifetiime to build these 2 ships. But to my surprise i finished both in 3 weeks. It was the first time that i enjoyed building a resin ship.

This is something different, I started scratch building it a while ago. It will be the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20)

Dude......we are so not worthy

The only sad thing about the LaFayette class is that they didn't give the power it needed, it is only capable of 25 kts...that simply doesn't cut it, when almost every other ship around is capable of 30+kt

Most of the building were from eye, I contacted NASSCO and they were nice enough to send me some pictures. I could not find any plans though. A lot of picture searching. For the hull I looked at the the ship kit review of the San Clemente Class Super Tanker on this site. I took the hull image and printed in the right scale size after figuring the length of the ship. I spent time looking for the actual Clemente kit but no luck.

Well you certainly have a good eye , i would like to build her at some time in the future, so if i may impose on you in the future for some advice that would be great.

The more modern designs do not give so much attention on achieving a top speed of 30+ knots. Other features such as stealth are considered more important nowdays.

Well John it is possible that it will be produced by Ships and co in the future. It is not an immediate project (hopefully you ll see other interesting stuff first) but in the next couple of years we ll see it if everything goes as planned.
