I couldn�t find any (decent) shell plating details or plans for any Casablanca CVE. Those that came with the AOTS book on the Gambier Bay are almost useless, in my idea. So, I had to use some "artistic license", coupled with some real CVE hull photos. One of the things that you�ll imediatelly notice, if comparing with other "heavier" warships, is that the plating is very thin, almost impossible to see. On the distance, you can only see "lines" across the entire hull, while on a battleship, you can easily see the different plates.
I still have to finish the propellers shaft housing and the bow, and then, I�ll start adding some paint....

Manila is going ok, and if you think that your plating is needing to get thinner , what about using litho, as ARH does? If you apply litho to the "recessed" plates, the others will get thinner........... just some sugestion, but I think your plating is very good...........

OMG! I'm a dumb Why didn't I think of doing that to cover a hull!? I know this is a quote from an older post and I'm slow about keeping current with builds anymore but this needs to have attention called to it once again.
After 6 months "laid-up", it�s time to re-start work on the Manila Bay...More pictures soon....

Well...I must say that up until now, I�m finding Academy�s 1/72 P-47 Razorback a very fine model. I�m already in the process of glueing all the wing halves together, and I must say that assembling this model, is a good experience, as it is a little,simple but yet reasonable detailed kit. I was busy during the last 2 weeks, so I couldn�t advance much further on Manila Bay�s hull, but last weekend, I managed to apply some putty over the plastic joints.
Always wear mask !!! Don�t ask me how I found that out !!!!
After a couple hours of work, this is the result...
I still have to apply some more putty over some "rebel" joints, and after that, its time to do a LOT of sanding !!!
