Thank you Paul!1/96th modeler wrote:Song,
The more I study the pictures of your work the more I am amazed. Most of us watching couldnt do that kind of work if somebody cut all the parts out for us let alone have it come out anywhere near as straight and perfect as your work. It has already been said but you are an artist, and a very talented one at that.
Thank you once again for sharing your incredible talent and workmanship with us.
Have you ever considered putting your work in a professional art gallery so the public can see them or perhaps even pay you what you wanted for one? The reason I ask is that several companies in the Phillipines sell models world wide that are not even CLOSE to what you create and are paid thousands of dollars for each. I can only imagine with your talent and craftsmanship what you could do in that kind of venue.
Impressed as always,
Paul
Your advise is useful for me . I will put my works in some commercial gallery in near future.
I try to make more models. your Song Jung Gun

Simple but effective.

Just caught up on your astonishing build . The detailed work on your crane is just the type of work I relish . No PE all from scratch .

I probably enjoyed the stern most of all on my little Roma build....
The catapult is a wonderful thing to behold--and yours is very very beautiful!

Re: 1/200 Roma
Two things have suddenly occured to me. One - it should be ''Master Song Jung Gun'' and Two - apart from the stack, nothing has been painted, does everything come apart for painting, or will you paint where the parts lay ? Or did I miss out on that info ?

Re: 1/200 Roma
The word "Master" has be associated with Songs brilliant interpretation of the Battleship Roma. The description of Master is in many ways a recognition of his outstanding skill as a model maker .Only ARH has at present been recognized as such and both ARH and Song build models not just to a high standard but think out of the box using techniques and methods almost unique to these two individuals and outstanding model makers. Song's meticulous use of timber throughout his build of Roma is more than a testimony to his skill but elevating that skill to an art form. Yes Song is indeed a "Master" craftsman.

Re: 1/200 Roma
Errrrrrrrrrrr yeah what Dave Wooley said - sometimes for a bit of fun, I try and imagine this Roma is a plastic kit not curved from wood or wooden materials, when that reality hits home, I question myself as to - how do you scratch blokes actually do what you do ? The slightly thick plastic wall surrounding a bridge of a ship, I generally remove this with a razor and file smooth, then replace with etch and cover with PVA giving it a cloth look. That I fully understand, no problem. When I see someone scratch Warspite from tiny pieces of plastic, the main guns and everything else, again I understand, but for the life of me don't understand where you make a start (not making any comment about drawing or plans but actually building the thing from the ground upward completely the model purely by hand-eye method)
My money is on the table right now, in the old days, as now, people with this gift would be called ''master'' because they are master at their trade, sport, hobby call it what you want.
No one can be given this skill, its not something you can buy or order online, and believe me when I say some people spend years at doing something, and they still don't come close. I believe for all you people, its a gift and one I am very proud to watch all being via my computer screen.

Song Your water colour is amazing , you are indeed a man of great talent. Here are two pictures I took whilst I was covering this year's Dortmund Intermodelbau . These models are made from match sticks .
