Hi
Had some problems getting the rear part of the mold off hull #3 so it was time to build a better mouse trap .I had to cut up the stern mold to get it off the hull .It was getting beat up hitting it with a hammer to get it to slide back .The new back half will be in two pieces making it a four part mold .I will be putting in cylinder head alingment dowles to keep it all square .The new hulls will also have the prop shaft housings pre drilled and a brass tube all ready installed .
My friend Nelson came over to help and brought his camera so here are some photo's .

Image
This is were the new stern will be split making it a upper and lower mold . Nelson cut out a template then I transferd it to two pieces of formica .

Bob did a running test on his T3 tanker
Displacement about 41 lbs
Hull and motors 16 lbs
Electronics 1 lb
Batteries 16 lbs
Lead ballast 8 lbs
Bob says it will twist within it's own length, has a large turning radius using rudder alone and is quite fast for the amount of weight .

Richard,

This certainly is a nice tutorial on how to make molds - and problems to avoid.

Please post more photos of how you solve this problem.
