Um, have you thought about doing Jean Bart as she looked before the Torch landings? Incomplete Turret2, no 152mm turrets, yellow superstructure, etc.

thank you blacman but a magician maybe not, tenacious certainly

well the shipyard reopens after some episodes of subcontracting and other small hassle

I will install the access ladders ,I am going to start by the quay side. As the hull of the Richelieu seen from above looks like a willow leaf and the wharf was small and suitable for mixed freighters and small freighter, the part where it was possible to put ladders of cut was reduced .possibility to put one in the middle on the castle bridge



as you can see the ladder comes in the middle of the hull, the company implementing this part of the port before the war had access walkways. the authorities used them to Richelieu access at quay . the acces walkways are drawin by Jean Mahieux



the sames with a weathering



on the open sea side, the ladders are classic



that of the bow, unmounted and with its davit



the hoist and the davit of the stern



and the hoist for that of the bow



to give you an idea of the size



the result provisionally in place





and finally .... a crucial step just passing ..the Richelieu definitely joins of the port of Dakar water......







the turrets are temporarily installed , just for the photos ,but the acces walkways are definitely glued.
This step unlocks many other....

thank's for your kind words
the work becomes difficult because full of fragile things are next to my big fingers during the final pose of parts.for starters, on the castle , the rangefinders stack which is glued definitively,giving so are definitive appearance



the same, for the one on the chimney



in both cases, to reinforce the assembly, an axis passes through the stacks, for the purpose of laying the masts.

the small bubbles on the water in the foreground, are the locations of the buoys of the anti-torpedo net that surrounds the Richelieu

Hi Marijn,
This is the kit "Arsenal" for the base but in fact, there will not be much left on arrival. I remade most of the parts with PE parts, with the interior layout of the sheds. For the version it is about B�arn 1932/1933. I plan to do a 1939 version too.
I will not flood Nicholas' post any longer, see you soon in this forum.

Very interesting!
It will be nice to see both versions together. But that will be for the very far future I guess!

In march I wrote "see you soon for the next progresss (the secondary armament)" it was longer than expected but the secondary armement is completed.
in first the 13.2mm CAD or CAS Contre Avion Double -Simple in french)

here , no 3D , barrels brass , but an PE superb and very accurate drawing by Jean Mahieux and some resin parts make by me .
I am currently finalizing the masts to be able to pose the riggins
