What's your rigging material, Dan?

Thank you, all, very much. Naganami's bridge has turned out well, though the bridge facing required extra work, and more coats of paint. So, while it may not be readily obvious, there's probably more paint build up then I would have liked.

Devin, I still have 1+ rolls of Dai Rikki 9x left. I am interested in using something that doesn't require coloring/painting so, I'll be experimenting with the next project. All the little extra tweaks tend to make things overscale. I was actually prepared to go further with the rigging but it would have been overkill. It makes more sense in 1/350.

Work is still afoot at snail central...............

Searchlight directors from FlyHawk were installed on the aft end of the compass deck. Boy, these are some small, fiddly pieces. Of course, had I installed them BEFORE I attached the running rigging, life would have been easier by a third, or more. The price of modeling while exhausted, I suppose.

Waterlines painted on.

Bridges seated and glued

#1 turret base installed. The location was moved aft about 1.5mm, so that the forward edge covers what had been the central opening in the deck for the turret pivot. Scale-wise, I probably should have moved it an additional .5mm back but, the gap would have shown despite the turret set in place over it. Of course, I could have filled it all in back in the beginning.

I think I'll tackle the rest of the canvas coverings next.

Thx very much. I'm using Dai Riki 9x fishing line, which, unfortunately is now OOP. I'm thinking about moving to caenis as I'm getting tired of coloring the lines. I suppose I will have to experiment a bit.

Damn. I didn't realize that a whole month has passed since the last update. Life's been busy, and progress SLOW. Since then, I've managed to complete all the canvas coverings, reels, mushroom vents, life rings, searchlights, damage control lumber, and two new (for me) details - stowed accomodation ladders and fender/bumpers in their support cages. I used some PitRoad jackstaffs, brown paint, and two bar railings to make those fenders. Interesting but time-consuming detail.

Hopefully, you'll forgive the large number of photos. I had trouble picking out unique representations and angles. Naganami first, then Kazegumo, plus some of both.

Dan I believe you forgot the third welding seam on her port bow. You may want to check.

Thank you all. The encouragement is appreciated. The build is taking so long that my interest keeps flagging, and your interest perks me up a bit.

PG, I'm glad that seam is the only thing you caught......

Thx, guys.

Jose, I'm just not sure. Chances are good that it won't be a DD. Right now, I'm leaning toward a CV or an auxiliary. My whims shift with every breeze.

Surely, you jest? Not my thing. I'd sooner build the cyber-punk Nautilus that you're looking to tackle. Not that I'm going to. Yet.
