Any word on whether Gallery/MRC will release supplemental aircraft kits for Intrepid like they did for the LHD's?

For those interested in doing Ticonderoga, some photos I sent to Navsource have just been posted.

it's hard to believe they won't release extra aircraft. i think the more interesting question is which aircraft.

Oh, and a 1/350 Space Shuttle! I have to say, I'd buy a second Intrepid if an aftermarket vendor would put out a 1/350 set of all the display aircraft (and spacecraft) on the deck of Intrepid today, plus the stanchions, crowds of tourists, hot dog carts, ticket booths, whatever else there is there in NYC now.

I also agree with being able to purchase gobs of 1/350 Skyraiders and Crusaders and Scooters and so forth.

Have picked up a few sets of A3 Sky Warriors, A4, F8 and RF8 from Brandon at Hobby time. I'm hoping Gallery will put them out as a set or airwing but just in case I'm getting some here and there. Will be doing as USS Ticonderoga CVA-14/CVW-19 from our 1968 cruise. Can't wait to see what Pontos and some of the others will come out with for After Market stuff. We need to contact some of these companies such as Pontos asking them to produce upgrade parts and sets for several of the carriers that can be build from the Intrepid kit. :woo_hoo:

Ryan, That's an A-12 on her deck. There are some slight changes made between the A-12 and SR-71. Most noticeable are the chines in the nose. However don't you feel bad, I'll write this off due to your marine-isum and the fact that us sailors still have to baby sit. :heh:

I also would like to see our friends at Pontos or KA do parts for the Ticonderoga. I'm imagining an epic wood deck for this one! :thumbs_up_1:

It appears that here is activity on my credit card indicating that Intrepid is about to ship.

Awesome! :woo_hoo:

I have actually started thinking about doing a Bon Homme Richard conversion. I have the plans for her. A lot of surgery though.

So much time, so little to do.....wait! Reverse that!! :cool_2:

Just got mine from Free Time Hobbies !! First glance is it's impressive finely engraved details everywhere and the PE is good but somebody really needs to come out with an assortment of radar and floater net baskets and railing, there is not enough in the kit. There is no PE for the aircraft . The aircraft are not molded in clear plastic but in the same plastic as the kit but they are nicely detailed.
ONE glaring thing not in the kit NO deck equipment no tow tractors and NO Tilly, although Gallery's deck equipment set is a good addition it doesn't have the Tilly crane carried on Essex class carriers it's an icon on them.
I hope Gallery or somebody fills this BIG omission and it really needs allot more aircraft and also include a COD and F3 Demons and HUP helo's
I'm going to convert it to the Ticonderoga (my father was stationed on it from 62 to 65) so a nice set of PE for the 2 platforms with the antenna's on the starboard side of the flight deck ,Tico and Hancock both had them.
Over all this is a GREAT kit

Now we need additional sets of aircraft, more A-4s, F-8s, RF-8s, Stoofs with Roofs, Spads and the rest.
When do we get those?

L'Arsenal has just issued A-4s and F-8s.
Resin and PE, 3D designed with a lot of surface details.
Production is just beginning. Maybe available by late August.

Last week I test fitted their newest little gems: a Skyhawk and a Crusader, both 1:350.
Here the Skyhawk is still missing its two drop tanks which will be ready very soon.
Yikes, I love those landing gears :cool_2:
... I'll order right now whole squadrons for my soon-to-arrive Gallery Intrepid :thumbs_up_1:

I've already asked for Furies, Phantom, Trackers, Traders, Spads, etc... Hope we'll have them by the end of the year.

I finally got home last night and I had a chance to open her up. At a glance, very nice! We definitely need more aircraft sets. I have enough F-8, RF-8, andA-4 Corsair Armada jets to do a complete airwing but the detail on the Gallery aircraft is quite good. I would love to get two more E-1 Willy Fuds. I have a nice stock of the L'Arsenal A-1H Spads as well and the Trumpeter A-3D's will suffice.

Now when do we get, let's say a Bon Homme Richard ( does Lexington & Shangri La), an Oriskany, or perhaps an Essex( does Yorktown, Hornet, Randolph, Kearsarge, Wasp, & Bennington).

Yes, we are greedy and we want more.

A great day for 1/350 Carrier Fans!!! :woo_hoo: Well done Gallery!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbs_up_1:

I'm with you. I wonder if they plan on doing other members of the class.

Planing and doing are two different things. What I would like to see is our good friends at Pontos and/or Mk1 designs put together a package for the different boats in this class configuration. For me I'm looking for Ticonderoga detail set. I'm sure there are as many interested in the other boats. I'm certainly going to send a message to those companies and offer my support.

Today I placed the Intrepid hull against the 1/350 Trumpeter Essex one, bottom to bottom.
Surprisingly the Intrepid is shorter by about one inch, perhaps a shy less.

I haven't done that yet but i was thinking about it, just too lazy to dig it out of the closet and try. The Intrepid lower hull is very nice and very close indeed to the full size. it does have some issues but the aft end is very nice. The shaft arrangement is good and the props do not hang lower then the keel as all the Trumpeter kits do, big no no on carrier types.

We need more AC for this CV,

Keith
