After a lot of searching for reference material, it was possible to design decals for Hms Empire MacColl for 1943

I'll be getting both Princes when they come out! I think it was Prince Robert (though it may have been Prince Henry) that very narrowly missed running into the Japanese carrier force on its way to Pearl Harbour in early December 1941. Can you just imagine how history might have been different had the Canadian cruiser made contact with the Japanese fleet and managed to get a message back to Pearl (which they'd just left) before their inevitable demise?

Hi Roy.I didn't know this story! such a meeting would probably change the course of the war! It's a pity that I can't find good plans to design the prince class as auxiliary cruisers. Maybe someone has information where such plans are in Canada? I asked in several museums. Maybe they are in private hands?Regards

Timmy C.Thank you. I have these plans and similar ones - original but they show HMCS Prince Robert for the period 1943-44. Such a model will be produced. I am looking for plans for 1941-42 after the first conversion with 152 mm guns as AMCS.

Sorry, but I don't have access to any useful details on the Princes as auxiliary cruisers before their mid-war changes. Regardless I'll be definitely buying both of your upcoming kits of them!

On the historical aspect, someone (I can't remember who) told me that it probably wouldn't have made much difference had Prince Robert (or Henry) got a last minute message back to Hawai'i as Pearl Harbor simply wasn't remotely close to being prepared to defend itself within the few extra hours the warning might have created. I don't know though..., it's hard to imagine all that firepower on battleship row not being able to put up a better fight with even a small "heads-up". It's just another what-if in history that gets you wondering.

Best to everyone,
Roy
