This is giving me headache just to look at it, if I do a Japanese battleship one day, I'll definitely choose the WW1 version... Well done!

i need some feedback on paint colors,if you look at the hull color now it is tamiya ijn xf12 its a nice light gray, but from what i can find out from this forum it should be xf 75 kure arsenel which i think is a dark gray. i am modeling her as early 1944 ,what should i use.

The general rule of thumb for IJN ships is that they are painted in the gray of the arsenal where they put in last for the time period that you are doing. You can check this via the Combinedfleet.com website's Tabular record of movement (TROM) for the ship.
So for example, here is Nagato's TROM:
http://www.combinedfleet.com/nagatrom.htm
In the June 27th, 1944, entry, you can see she received several upgrades at Kure. I would think that it's safe to assume that she was repainted at this time, using Kure grey.

well i've been humming and hawing long enough about the colors on nagato.the color i started with is j.n gray tamiya xf 12,i really liked the look but it is wrong also i would get lots of flack from all the guys who are helping me along on this build

.so i am switching to kure arsenal xf 75 also from tamiya a boring gray .i tried some on a piece of scrap and it looked way to dark,so in a 1/3 oz. jar i put in 15 drops of white and 10% acohol to thin it out.this toned it down a tiny bit,i don't know but the alcohol also seems the take the shine out of the paint?.anyhow its done to late to switch again as there will be to much build up.

hello guest, the red on the funnel is bondo auto body filler ,i use it as putty for filling joins in styrene and any other dips and holes in anything.it is great stuff.

i am not a airplane builder so here is my feeble effort,i had a bunch of pics showing all the bit and pieces before assembly but somehow i lost them all after i put everything together

the two planes are f1m2 pete's which she carried in early 1944.

I had to e-mail them..
komodels@silver.ocn.ne.jp
I told them what I needed and how much for shipping. I then sent my payment info in 2 seperate
e-mails as they don't have a secure server. It worked out fine. I got the planes in about 2 weeks time.
