Yes, and just like the 1970s it looks like Victorious will be exactly the same as Illustrious !
I really hope that they do do SOME SORT of modifications for Victorious, but I doubt it.
They use photos in the catalog during the early stages of development - once it's more complete, the artwork will be ready by then, and they switch to the artwork for the next year's catalog.
In short, if you see artwork being used, it's more likely to be released sooner rather than later.

I shouldn't be holding my breath then for their 1/350 HMS Rodney then?

.
The 70's Victorious is exactly the same as the Illustrious except that Aoshima added 3 platforms for 12 20mm mounts (4 each). They are located P/S aft on the flight deck overhang (not under the ramp as shown on the box art) and one on the stbd. side of the island. Actual locations are best picked based on the box art since the instruction sheet is vague. I still love these old kits because they they were the first.

I'm guessing those are 1/700? I'm normally 1/350 but one dream of mine is doing all of the River Platte ships in a common scale. If it must be 1/700 then I'll just have to live with it.
Trumpeter has posted their entire 2017 - 2018 catalogue on Facebook (the post has the longest URL I have ever seen ) but pages 62, 65 and 66 are missing. These pages happen to be right in the middle of the Ships section. Until I realised there were pages missing I thought some of their previously announced projects eg the 1/350 Nelson and Rodney had been dropped.
