Checked the few book I have on Yamato/Musashi. The only source I could find that has any info on the rigging is the new Kagero 3D Super drawings about Musashi. Don't know how accurate the information is though but the authors have the rigging both in the 3D drawings and in the separate 2 D drawings that are included in the booklet.

You have to check really carefully. I used some screenshots of Kagero Tirpitz from Youtube as a reference and it contains quite a few inaccuracies. But that rigging could be correct, I don't know. Maybe you could ask for help in the calling all fans thread?
Edit: by the way, is Kure 1:10 model's rigging accurate? It might be a shame if they can't get it right...or if the ship's photos are very obscure.

Maybe I should stop complimenting, but I just couldn't! This build is superb!

I use a wire to apply it like I do with the thin CA. I never though it as scary as it's pretty precise and if you mess up I just use my finger to level the glue then varnish on top of it to make it disappear.
Also when you apply it stays as a drop but when you continue to break the surface tension it starts to flow and you just guide it with the wire.
I guess the heavy one isn't really gel type but more like just chunky or fat

And about rigging, I myself am not worried that much about it. I will make it as close as I can to my reference at hand but probably am not able to make everything and will not have sleepless nights because of it

Some work's been done to the forward secondary base.

Basics done.

Then onto primer.

And some base painting with some weathering done. Life preserver added aswell.
They are from the Pontos set, they are white kinda of a rubbery things. Painted the red parts with vallejo flat red.
The raised plate can be easily seen which looks really nice (in my opinion) I guess I could just used the sticker and then primed over it aswell.

Man I just spent the last two evenings reading this entire build log, I for one was extremely impressed at what to me is a pure master piece in the making. I will like many others use your weathering education lessons to good use. Again fantastic work I look forward to more updates.

Some more headway.

All the single 25s have been completed and waiting for paint.

Also almost finished the last main turret. Starboard railing finished aswell.

After I had glued them with thin CA I used heavy CA to get the seam disapper. After that once again enamel gray was painted on the deck edge. Then various filters on top of it.

I have looked every where for chain stoppers. Where did you find them, or did they come with the kit?

They aren't really clear on how to put them but it's the part 404 coupled with the padeyes 190.

Hey Jim,

I really didn't much to go with the stain other than what I thought looked good. First stained to more brownish color and then the so called "jet black" stain she wore on ten ichi go. For that I just used really dark gray. I never even try to produce exact same colors as the model is so much smaller than in real life so even if it were painted the exact same shade it will look completly different. And building for my own pleasure I tend to use colors and shades and their combination that pleases my own eyes.

Some finished single 25s.

After basic painting and weathering I picked the shoulder rest with brown then painted the gun with dark metal color and light drybrushing with silver.

The second batch of madness on the way.

Finished bases for the open triple 25s in place.
Now time to make about 20 guns not to mention all the 20 closed mounts aswell

Nice work again there mate. This is starting to look like Yamato right

I just started working on one of the 155mm turrets. Tried to get the tripod assembled on the roof, but it got very frustrated because it didn't work out and used the kit part, which doesn't look as good as the Pontos replacement though.

Got a question for you again: I started assembling one of the catapults. Paintwise: did you assemble it completely and paint it, or did you assemble the catapult interior, paint it and then assemble the exterior parts around it?

I assembled them first then paint. Don't worry about it, just airbrush from different angles and you eventually get everything painted and there will be no brass showing through.

I'm in the midst of making all the triple 25s for the open mounts, I made a new tactic of making all 12 at the same time but I only make one thing at the time.
For example first I made the bases necessary bends and folded it together. Then I took a break and folded the gun cradle. Etc. etc. I still got work to do with them,
but I know if I skip them now and go do the superstructure work (which is far more fun) I end up with a ship that's missing all the AA guns

I definitely can feel your pain on those 25mm trips...I'm making the same amount of the veteran model ones and man it takes so much patience determination and restraint to make them...I just finished making 8 in open mount rocket launchers by veteran and it was definitely a mental exercise filled with profanity and cursing
