Continued beautiful work, Joe.

Is that just primer on the main directors?

It's looking very pretty!

I've always loved those two linoleum walking strips on the aircraft deck of the Yamato types. A very pleasing visual cue and your rendition is smashing!

Hello !

Very niiiice work ! :woo_hoo:

I got the pontos kit and I wonder how did you join the rails together and the rails on the dock ? I used thin CA but its very very fast, impossible to correct and I put to much of it which made some small mountains on the joints... visibles after painting... so messy :(

I use this tape cut in fine strips to secure my small items:

3M 301PLUS-1/2 Masking Tape, Performance Line, 12mm x 60 yd.

It is an automotive masking tape. To remove the tape I use BSI-151 CA kicker with a small clean paint brush. The tape slides off and leaves no gummy residue. That's why I use that tape.

The rails were sandwiched together with tweezers and thin CA was applied with a fine wire before installation.

The photo etch is painted first with automive etching primer then the main color.

After I glue the rails to each other they are lightly resprayed to hide glue marks and metal that shines through.

I dry brush them afterwards but before installation.

The deck has already been painted before the rails go on.

I tape the rails in with fine strips exposing the contact points.

I use a fine brush to paint Elmer glue on each contact point.

After drying for 24 hours I remove the tape with the CA and brush.

With a fine wire I apply small amount of CA to random point for reinforcement.

I then hand touch-up the paint to hide the glue. Hope this helps.

kudos that you glued the two part rails together. I gave up in the end and used a single part.

Nice update chap.

Cheers

Screws and rudders in. The shafts are the stainless ones included in the kit. I did not like the look so I metalized them with MM Steel after a gloss black coat. The boat rack is in process of being installed also:
