Nice work so far! Are you going to add wash/drybrushing? Also wondering, are you going to do a bit of sanding now that the painting has pointed out all the rough spots on your model?

Dino has progressed far from ordinary modeling, but he still needs encouragement to reach perfection Not only is he scratchbuilding a very fine 1/350 ship, he also proves me wrong that it should take 10 years

Forgive Foeth. He is acting out his frustration because he could not get the pistons in the motors of his 1/350 motor launch to properly oscillate with the turning of the propeller shaft.

Good job Dino! BTW, after your done with this 1, what would be your next project.

To answer Foeth and ARH, yes, the first layer of 507C has pointed out some areas that needed a bit of action, in some case it was needed a complete new putty work ( spotting top )

Now I'm waiting that these first parts dry perfectly before to start with the first washing and than after 1/2 days I will be able to apply some dry brushing, than another washing ... anyway I'll post some shots.

Next model?? ...uhm for sure this winter will be Sheffield winter and in the meantime I will study another scratchbuild ship in 1/350, candidate are HMS Fiji, HMS Warspite ... and new entry ... Regia Nave Scipione L'Africano

...I'm not sure what ship will be the first... it belong to my humors...

Aircraft catapult

I still must wait another day before to go on painting, this is the right time to build the catapult, here are some shots WIP:

Once, again, absolutley fabulous!!

1st washing

For the first washing, the one that should make the overall shadowing on the model, I used oil paints, 2 x "nero di marte" and 1x "terra d'ombra"

This is the result:







Dry brushing

After two days I was ready to start with dry brushing, this time I used WEM 507C and 507B mixed with a bit of oil "bianco di titanio"



This is the result, I'm sorry, I realized that the photos are a bit too "blue".







Later there will be another washing, this time focalized around small details, but firts I will go on painting the decks ( 507A ) and the interior side of splinter shields.

The overall look is glossy, of course I will spray a light layer of matt varnish all over the ship
