Thats not all the new parts, there is also some new parts for the turrets cause this time as an early war period the turrets for example got training aiming devices on the roofs.

There is ISW set for their resin 1/350 model of Tone. But it is probably not good by today's standards.

Those crazy Fukuya prices, are they really justifiable, comparing to Master, Lion roar, Flyhawk production?

Also, could you point out the Chikuma-Tone differences. Is there a diagram or photos to compare? Is the new Chikuma made better then Tone?

Before the increase in light AA only some minor differences in the aerials of the main mast. After the installation of extra AA IJN Chikuma had the triple in the stern in different position.
I really don't know why the Fukuya barrels are so expensive, I have used 1/500 ones for my IJN Nagato and IJN Yamato and so far had no problems, but they don't have something "special" that will justify the high price compared with other brass barrels manufactures offerings.

The new IJN Chikuma by Tamiya in 1/350 is based on the already released 1/350 IJN Tone (half year ago), but is an early war -1941 - not late(1944) like IJN Tone.
