So the last part of the etch orgy: the channel chains.
Here the old mark 1 ...
... and as I believed that this was still too big here the refined mark 2.
And here some more details
Either fixed on Heller�s deadeye-machine where the lanyards could be fixed before assembly ...
... or - as I personally prefere - the deadeyes being first build in and the lanyards being put later while rigging as on the original.
Deadeye with iron put into the slot and the lower parts hooked in.
Needels put into the Dremel and either ground by a file or the Double-Twin-Super-Drive-Technology to reduce the head in diameter and height ...
... left the original and the right the worked ones ...
... inserted half ...
... some cyano onto the needle and gentle pushed in.
Some helping "shrouds" to straighten the parts ...
... and glue the irons into the slot.
The main channels got the missing iron support bracket - ok it is brass now - ...
... and the preventer chain plates are added on the bottom ...
... but aside this it is almost business as usual
Also the futtock shroud chains...
... with the hooks ...
... turned 90� towards their rings.
So that�s the report from etching front, all parts tried and only one thing left to say:
Dinner is served!

So they are officially available for other 1:100 Vics!
Everything worked as planned, that was a big relief. In the moment I still work on the detailed assembly instructions, until they are finished I decided to give an early bird price just to start things moving. But do not worry, any questions towards assembly can and will be already answered!

Well if I did not have the 1/180 and a1/144 to do,'Hmmmm'.

Soemething small went ahead.
That is why the etch orgy originally started: I could not find enough Xs and Vs ...
... still needs a touch of copper paint.
The upper ones prebent ...
... and used a new technic to fix them: Glue the parts face down onto tape and use spray glue for the back ...
... prefixed on place and finally fixed by applying extra liquid CA with a tooth pick.

In the meantime I did some more shots for the assembly instructions, that I don�t wont you to withhold from you ..
The flaglockers ...

... and the buckets in place.

Bingo Nicolas, just that it was not black in the start
This is how it looks if Fimo/Milliput is baked with 230� Celsius instead of 110� as blind dafi got confused by the english temperature beside the german writing and vica versa ...
... nicely black and blown up ...
.... so got the Fimo out again ...
... first the ball, then the thick sausage, then a medium sausage of 4 mm with the use of a small sheet with 4 mm spacers, and then the thin sausage of 3 mm with the flipside ot the tool with 3 mm spacers. Afterwards I used a "comb" with small wires in 2 mm distance to roll in the 7 lashings representing the 7 seas ...
... then bent the parts, distributed it on the oven plate and baked on the right tempersture.
Funny to see the bloated black been beside. And I got a nice stack of rolled hammocks
Then filed the touching surfaces ...
... glued the parts together while paying tribute to gravity in the middle of the nettings.
This is still the rough version, paint will be easy, but the netting will still need some fiddling around to be figured out properly ...

Looking good indeed ... as I am not a specialist for that period, I wondered, whether the netting is actually U-shaped ? I thought the netting would be just inboard and outboard.

The netting is U-shape, my guess is that it keeps the hammock clear the wood underneath to keep it well aired.

Makes sense, thought about it as well, but wasn't sure. Certainly you are good observer with respect to the hammock hanging through ... I think such small details bring life to a model.

A question:- I am looking for a few eyelets the same as you use for the guns and gun hatchs, do you do any eyelets smaller than the ones you use for 1/100 build.
I am thinking on 1/350 scale eyelets.
I know Gold Medals do them for there US ships.
Like so, was wondering if you did or know where I can procure some.
