Quick question: Which PE manufacturers offer the best 1/700 helicopter deck nets?

Just curious Nektarios, isn't S&C afraid of what will happen when Dragon comes out with their SCB-125 kits? What about all the people that will hold out in anticipation of a cheaper alternative? Just being nosey is all Looks like a fantastic kit. Any PE?

Carl, your DDG looks fantastic, superb work as always. Sauragamon, your conversion looks very interesting, keep us posted. I like the placement of the VLS launchers.

If you are interested in U.S.N. warships then the best option is the USN/JMSDF PE set from GMM.

This will be a limited production kit ( i was told that 50 or 60 kits will be produced and if there will be a request for more they always can make more). I hear about the "new" SCB-125 kit from DML for at least a couple of years and there is no sign that we will see it in the near future. When it will be produced then probably it will be a cheaper alternative. The kit will have no PE or aircraft in order to reduce the production cost.

Sampson update.............85% done. I added a black wash to the details (very time consuming) and mounted the aft gun director radars.

Still to go: Attach the ship to the water and finish the water off; still one more NULKAs to go; attach the mast and rig it; mount the forward gun director radar and railings around it; antennas on the stacks and two on the torpedo launcher deck; waiting for RHIB from BFM.

Very nice , good to see that 'Iowa effect' happening to your other builds as well.

Thanks for the Kudos on my Sampson, guys! Not my best, but it will be a prominent fixture in my collection.

While waiting for the Liquitex gel to dry on the water base for the Sampson, I started this kit, today......

Looks like a good start so far, Carl. I'm almost done with my F-20, just working on the armament, some of the final details, and she's good.

Thanks for the compliment on Mo. The putty-fu is taking a lot, and there's a lot of cursing involved. Starboard side's taking a little more work than port did.

I think this is gonna be a challenging kit for you Carl. I ve heard about it that one needs to put lots of effort to make it look decent. I think that you can do it

I think i m gonna replace the Harpoon canisters and the 20 mm vulcan with Phallanx CIWS.

Red, they don't call it the Divine Scale for nothing - you haven't seen me when I'm stuck on a single project and my brain's running. The Gneiseau I cranked out in a couple of days. I got the two boxes, and I hit the ground running.
