Sauragnmon, i am inspired indeed by your whiffery. I usually build my ships and modernise them with better weapons, electronics and radars. I do this when i think that a ship is lightly armed or i want to improve its capabilities. I don't know if my ships are exactly what-ifs like some of your neverbuilts. I have to admit that since you started posting photos of your ships the modernisation ideas are coming with an increased frequency.

Well, what can I say, there's a reason with another group I was amongst, I earned the nickname of "The Mad Scientist" - namely that I have an insane tendency to tinker with all manner of ideas at the time.

Well, she's all done except the ship's name on the stern.

Well done Carl. I think I said this lots of time after seening your builds. I'll say it again Bravo Zulu. Ohh let me guess that 1/350 is it modern or WW 2?

Oh, I know its on the way, Nektarios. I've no worries about that.

WHEC-715 U.S. Coast Guard ship is finished. It took me 5 days to finish the ship working few hours on three weekdays and more this weekend. It was a fun and easy build. I think now it is well equipped to act as a convoy escort in wartime.

Really, really sharp! The red stripes on the USCG cutters really catches the eye!

How do you stop all that nice white paintwork from yellowing??

I hope not! Woudn't any yellowing be a matter of time? I wouldn't expect any yellowing so, soon. Have you experienced quick yellowing ASFC? (Or should I call you Matthew? )

I used Model Master Acrylic Flat White paint on my USS Duxbury Bay AVP-38 model and with a Model Master Flat Clear Coat over the whole thing.

See I found that matt clear cote is the suspect-a wingy thing i built 5 years ago but never covered in clear cote is still white, yet a launch i painted six months ago covered in the stuff is starting to show a shade of yellow.

I suppose it depends on the products that you use.

COngratulations, another impressive ship.
Regarding white paint yellowing : I put a small drop of blue paint in the white, so it's not white in the end, it's very slightly blue (you have to be told to notice it) and it prevent the yellowing.

I didn't know that tom-tom!

I hope Nektarios is safe given the current troubles in Greece.
