HI all
in the genre "repetitive work" , I just finished the elements that form the anti torpedo dams
the cylindrical floats



there have two floats cut below their "water lines" and an integer. those cut will be those who will go into the "water"

then comes the turn of the spherical floats (please ,no remarks with of eventual similarities with female anatomy
parts )



their presence in the dio



and as usual currently, a picture with a marine





and one with the piece of 1CTS to give an idea of the size of the set





I am not unhappy, because for those who have notions of general mechanical, turn of identical spheres is not easy, but what's done is done : D

on the floats cylinders,indeed ,there of the Rings on each side,because it is a "connector" for connecting the nets portions. I will make a step by step to turn a sphere

I made a micro-spherical turning device for my lathe for such jobs:


The tool to be held in the quick-change toolpost and some cutting tools

I checked your website again to see how it works... looks like a very useful addition (as does the milling machine...)

Eccellent work on the boom net boggles(for want of a better word) .

The reason is:-I am looking for something like this for one of my builds with a ship in Harbour.

I thought of useing some of my wife's beeds that she uses for necklaces but if theres an alternative product?????.

Those look the ticket(just right in 1/350.

For the moment , I put aside the making of "master" for the dio, and I went back to the castle, more precisely under the navigation bridge. a tangle of pipes telegraphs, pipe ....is present seen the photos, do not hesitate to give a "twisted side" to the pipes








and the bottom is "furnished". if I did not could not resist and I have put my hands in the cookie jar ..... in fact I thought he would have been a shame not to make a small barrel, but the size at the scale is of (2.6 mm) I hesitated from the obstacle, but this morning, I'm feel to make the realization of the third barrel ..... the result



the slats are engraved and straps added, the plug is present also !

I must admit that I think this is the threshold of what is possible to realize for me , I think ,for the continuation, work on the castle, beginning of the master realization for armaments (37 mm, 13.3, single, double and quadruple ..) and I think I will make flourbags , rice, and other small cargo found in the warehouse, apparently used, among other things, commissary, storage place various supplies necessary for the life of "floating barracks ", who was become the Richelieu during this period

Hello all

After a busy week and hot, I worked early this morning for finished the below of castle
and the other two gateways were "furnished" by reinforcements and pipes. a primer coat was applied

the primer coat is used to reveal defects, and I'm glad, because very few are present

it lacks the upper part because it is at molding , see you later, for the further progress (I hoped most important )

Nicolas, I still would have liked to see how you turned those floats for the torpedo-nets, particularly, as turning thermoplastic plastics is not so easy ...

thanks for your comment sorry, I forgot for machining spherical floats My lathe is a BOLEY F1



for machining the plastic or resin,I use the tools that I myself. for the sph�res ,I make a hole in a steel blade half hard ,I cut a half hole,

with a "tail of rats" I create a draft angle,I annealing and re-tempering the tool .Then, I work the plastic like of wood!!as soon as possible I put it in pictures

OK, so you use a form tool with a 0 cutting angle. That's probably the best way to turn polystyrene.

The Boley F1 is nice compact lathe for small precision work. In case someone wants to know more about it (and similar ones) here is a great site on such lathes: http://www.lathes.co.uk/boleyF1/

Hi there!

Finally I had the time to check out your build, and I am very glad I did!!!!
I do not know this ship at all, but your work is absolutely beautiful! Every cut is straight, and square, the level and quality of detail is outstanding!!!!!!
And the fact that you cast your own parts AND the quality of it, just blows my mind!!!!! Do you do commission work? do you sell resin parts?
You got lots of talent, man!!
maybe you should try a Nimitz?
