Hi Brad, Thanks for the images. The kangaroos are already there.

I would have to add extra colours for the wood and chrome name plates and that would drive the price up. I don't think that would be well received.

The badges are a nice idea, I'll have to see how long they would take to convert. Do you have the whole class?

Hi Eugen,

I'm afraid I don't do a lot of 1/700 stuff. I find that the minimum specs wipes out a lot of my detail work at that scale and I end up with very little of the original artwork left. Just doesn't do it for me, if you know what I mean.

Darren is like a big brother to me, and has helped me many times over. Thanks Darren. I don;t remember meeting Eugene yet, but the IPMS SD meeting is this coming Friday???
Also, I sent a GMM 1/350 SPS-49 to Willie this morning. I also sent the entire ISW 1/350 DDG-6 p/e set to him.
The ladders and safety netting are slightly oversize for 1/350, so I'm hoping they'll be just right for Willie's 1/300 FFG.

The 41 Sqdr, displays 3 different markings in everyship :
(1) Squadron crest.
(2) Ship�s crest.
(3) Ship name plate.

The squadron crest is the one that you have already included (and with a surprinsingly accurate design !!!) in the decal sheet.

F81 Santa Mar�a crest, which is a caravelle sailing ( Santa Mar�a was the flagship of the discovery flotilla in 1492 )

F82 Victoria ( "Primus circumdedisti me" = the first to go round me -- Victoria was the first ship to make a round-the-earth trip )

F83 Numancia ( Numancia was the first armoured ship in the Spanish navy, and the flagship of Admiral M�ndez N��ez at El Callao )

F84 Reina Sof�a -- The crest is the Royal pendant.

F85 Navarra -- legend "Fragata Navarra F85".

F86 Canarias

This F86 Canarias is the only one having a second crest on the flight deck, a drawing of Tweety --who is obviously a canary.

The name plate is the same for every ship :

I note that ex-HMAS Adelaide is being laid to rest this weekend off the East Coast of Australia as an artificial reef.

Hi all once again.

The next thing to do was the RHIB, which is not included in the kit either, and that is a mini-model in itself, with eveything that it includes. There are several models in the Spanish Navy, but luckily I have got some pics of the RHIB of Santa Mar�a herself, what allows to build it without major trouble.

This is what has to be done :

The first thing to do was to build the rigid hull with Evergreen stripe, and then polish it with file and sandpaper, to give it the proper shape :

Next was to set in place a deck and a wedge to make the bows and the floats around it higher than the rest of the hull :

Then a whole night drying, and afterwards I simply had to cut the floats and set them in place. If this is done with enough care, the cuts will be well closed, and no putty will be necessary :

While the former was drying, so that the floats did not move while sanding, I made the structure that goes amidships :

Hi Guys,
I thought I'd share.
Today, my daughter and I spent 5 hours on the, "Yacht America", a San Diego based replica of the famous first winner of the America's Cup race.
While underway, we were searching for migrating or feeding whales. On our way back in, (about 12 miles off shore), I spotted a Perry Class FF nearby, and took some pics. The ship was not moving as best I could tell, but was not anchored either. The SPS-49 was in use and there were crewmen moving about the main deck.
Here is what I saw...we were actually a mile or so from this ship, but I used a 300mm at max zoom.

I have identified this ship as USS Jarrett FFG-33
I wish I could post larger files!!
