Glad to hear the project is going to be continued. It should help me with my build of the ship in the near future.

I hope it helps you with yours. If there's anything ya need, lemme know & I'll see if I got pics/drawings that may help ya. My uncle served on the Forrestal 1959-61 and Ranger 1965-66 so, I got them covered fairly well.

Been looking over the plans for the post SLEP Saratoga trying to figure out where the fire doors are located and noticed "moving stairs" on the port side of Hangar Bay 1 & 3

This is probably the best pic I have of one of them. AAnybody got any better pics or drawings of them? How would I best scratch build these?

Hey Ed, would these be of use to you? It shows them on pages 9-11 clearly marked as "moving stairway". I know its later then you're building and of
Sara but it appears she had the same thing in the same spot.

Thanks Cliffy, I posted that link on the Slipway thread a few days ago & is what I'm working from for Ranger. My Ranger is in the 1965/66 configuration & these plans are of post SLEP Saratoga. If I'm not mistaken, SLEP was mosyly updated equipment/electronics & radar, etc so, the structural differences should be about the same.

Hippy, have you tried asking the guys at the Ranger Association if one of them could take pics for you?
Just a thought
Happy Modeling

Seeing how the Ranger isn't a museum yet & still in PSNY. That's hard to do. I've been emailing them but, nothing has been found as of yet.
