Wow looks very nice but what's she like moving through the water?

Hi Mick Kiev sits well and handles better than I ever though possible . With the four shafts and 2 rudders steering is very positive and it not affected what so ever by the breeze across the water. All in all I'm very pleased with the results. Thanks for all your help and advice.

Just been catching up on your Kiev build Dave, very impressive indeed
styrene sheet is a wonderful medium to work with and importantly it's cheap. I dont understand why more people though dont use a Swan Morton, the handle is nicely weighted and the blades come in varied shapes for all kinds of use.

Hi Torpedo A Swan Morton is the trade name for a particular blade and handle. Yes the name on the book is the same person .

Do you have a image of the Kiev under its own power,
I would like to see the bow wave. I also included an
image of my dads model that may help you with
some detail on your model.

Those Wagga Wagga guys are crazy. One has an USS Winston Churchill that fires minature missiles.
And another has a model of the USS Enterprise all 15+ feet of her.

Good to be back after a brief absence visiting Dortmund
{ thanks Guido } and all points of the compass with
Bill Clarke who was over from the States.
Ozpirate asked if I had any pictures of Kiev underway .
Kiev is seen here gently underway as the 12volt supply
to the four 777 motors is more than enough to take the
skipper water skiing so I have to be a little easy on
the stick .Apart from that the Kiev is a real treat to
steer and responds positively to any movements on the
rudder stick.
Kiev is now back in dock yard hands ready for fitting out .

lovely pics of Kiev, the close up on the second one shows a very realistic bowwave. There is what appears to be a stretch of calmer water behind her had you just completed a turn to stbd or is it a trick of the light.

Hi Roy No it's no trick of light you are spot on . Kiev has just completed the turn when the picture was taken.
