Mathew what happened to your Nimitz "in refit"???

I found some time to complete four EKA-3B Skywarriors belonging to VAQ-135 DET.1. Now i have finished all 72 aircraft of CVW-6 that FDR carried during its 1971 cruise.

Nope Midway class carriers never carried Vigilantes.

Ok Nektarios, I gess they had to choose between the Vigi or Skywarrior and the Skywarrior won out since these 2 birds are the biggest ones on a CV deck. And the Essex & Midway class CVs couldn't handle both.

I'm not doing enough work on it to consider it it 'in refit'.

I got those F-32s today. They will be my first Resin aircraft so I will have fun with them when the weather warms up enough to coat them in primer.

Some nice aircraft you have there as well!

Eddie i guess that it wasn t a matter of choice. The higher speed of Vigilantes meant that they probably were not easy to land onboard smaller carriers like Essex or Midway class.

That is less than one week's worth of progress? WOW!

When I get into the 1/700 carriers for my collection, I hope they look that good.

Besides the two 1/700 escort carriers that I have made in the last year, the only carriers that I made prior to them were when I was in junior and high school. Over 25 years ago. I made a 1/720 and a 1/350 CVN Enterprise. I don't have those anymore. Not since I graduated high school and went into the USN.

I have wondered this, for quite a while, and never asked the experts. "How much of a noticeable difference is there between 1/700 and 1/720 carriers and why are there two scales so close in size? I'm assuming that 1/720 was a "box scale" at one time and 1/700 made more mathematical sense.

Roger that. They did require higher speed & angle of attack when trapping.

It sure looks you did a lot of progress in just a week.

Inspiration is something i need now. I m very tired from too much work in the hospital and my builds are not progressing. I have the time and mood to make only aircraft.

Carl if you place side by side two carriers of the same class then the difference of the 1/700 with the 1/720 is noticeable. In case of carriers belonging to different classes then you can t tell if there is a difference or not.

I understand that feeling, when I was in school I could not get into doing anything. I start a new job on Monday. I am hoping to be able to fit in some regular time to work on my modeling.
