p.s. One suggestion: The aft gun director radar tower's long bulkheads could be deleted. They were blast shields for the Quad Type Tomohawk launchers, which you don't have on yours. It could make room for other items. Just a thought.

I was merely experimenting with another water method on a small 5x7" board. I think I'll need this experience when it comes time to harbor or 1/350 dioramas.

Here is a 1/350 PBM-5 Mariner that I assembled and painted about 8 months ago. It came with the AVP model kit.

Thanks, guys. I thought about deleting the blast shields, and decided against it, because they still are shielding that forward radar dome, which is for a redundant search and track radar during main gun firings. I'm still thinking I could bolt an extra four harpoons either side there too. Something that has no real vertical mounting requirements and thus can fit just fine over the AEGIS positions. Just worried the blast from VLS launches would screw with the casings, which is why they're still rather blank.

Yes great start! As for the assemble line method Nektarios has it down pat. I could not do it. I am having trouble organizing the hanger deck for the CVN.

Today, a LHD-4 Boxer arrived at the door. I think it will be the LHD-7 USS Iwo Jima. I still need one more after this for the LHD-3 USS Kearsarge. My wife found this one for me, I think Revell stopped producing it .

1/700 USS Garcia DE (Corsair Armada)
1/700 USS Brooke DE (Corsair Armada)

It is always better to have similar ships when you try the assembly line method.

With the intent to try an assembly line method, a few weeks ago I broke out my two Garcia kits and looked at them and references for the two ships and I kept getting mixed up between the two configurations not just from class to class, but from ship to ship with in the classes. Can't do it without the fear of screwing them up.

I might try the method with two AVP models of the USS Greenwich Bay and USS Valcour, the two other Commander Middle East Forces flagships that swapped duty with the USS Duxbury Bay. They were very similar, with few differences.

I had the same problem with the CFA class ships. Each one differs more or less from the other one. This is a problem when you build 1960s or 70s era ships in their 1980s/90s configuration. They were not modernised in the same period and received different systems.

Showing some more progress. Still lots of work needed for the PE.
