Hmmm Iowa's for me. Clipper bow, long low hull, menacing frontal appearance (in any configuration) and you can tell where the bridge is with ease. They do it for me.
WW1 dreadnoughts and 19th-century predreadnoughts and ironclads are definitely my favourite. They may not be the most elegant or powerful designs, but they somehow seem to have more character and visual interest than later ships. Similarly, I prefer modelling WW1 and 1930s biplanes to Spitfires, Mustangs and Messerschmitts, and clunky, rivet-encrusted early-war tanks to Shermans and Tigers!
