Hello!

I finally started with this little project! I begin with the construction of the Scharnhorst to get a feeling for the kit before I venture to the conversion of the Gneisenau. On the following pics you can see the result of 4 hours work to complete turret "Anton" with pe-parts from MK1 and Lionroar! But there's about 20 parts more to mount! :cool_2:

I asked myself how I can realize the dazzle camo wearing by Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen during the Channel dash. That's why I have time to experiment a little and took a piece of a sponge and dabbed the dazzles with it. What do you think?

Here's a pic how i use the "sponge-technique"!

That one blotch on port is too small, the other on starboard too large, otherwise it looks good :heh:

Happy painting ~ Olaf!

Now Scharnhorst's "Boom Brothers" are done! The railing on turret Bruno was scratch built as well as the ammo box!

That is fantastic work! I read about the Channel dash years ago. Man, work like this just makes my chin hit the desk. I stand in awe.

Here are the first results at the 15 cm twins of secondary artillery. I scratch built the crampons on the back with parts of a pe-railing!
