Did some fading with lightened base color and "scrapped away the barnacles" before working on some post shading and dot filters. I wasn't 100% certain what it was going to look like but i was smiling bigger and bigger as i puling all those little balls off.

Spent some time this evening getting this one done. After applying the decals the first thing to do was the dot filter to continue the fading a bit but more t put some tonal variations in the hull. Oil paint was pulled down with a brush damp with mineral spirits. Once the blobs of paint were blended it was left to dry. The hull from the tower forward has not been done yet. The effect it more visible in the flesh.

Nice work on the filters. I learned the hard way on a tank that one combination of colors you shouldn't use are white and red. Hard to make pink look military outside of the North African theater.

Martin, hooked? Mmmmm... not yet. But more interested than before.

Devin, Red is a good color to use and can add some real nice tones. I hear about the pink.. you know... been there and so on.

In the photo above with all the paint dots there would be maybe 3 red dots, and way smaller in size. Same is true for yellow.

Hi Joe. Thanks. The price put that on the back burner for awhile. The guy I built those 3 biplanes for is thinking about having me build one for him though so i may get to do one and make hobby funding money too.
