Jef As a dream model I would have liked to have built Richelieu at 1:100 scale . Years ago I attended a Naviga world model ship championships and there was a stunning model of this ship , the detail work was inspiring. I often wonder what became of the model.

Absolutely impressive collection, Jef!. Thats the only advantage I find in 1/700. Lots of ships you can cram by square metre. :heh:

Congratulations.
Pachi.
Image I will miss you Werner. Fair winds and following seas.

An other advantage is that you can built more models in a year.
I built from 4 to 6 models / year.

I am just about running out of space!!

hence the large armoured cruiser in 1:96 will be shortly looking for a new home-- inc glass case preferably buyer collects in the UK...
contact me for details

This will make space for more wallcases--and another 40 or so 1/700 ships...!

My status since my posting early in the thread has changed ;)
I finally purchased a 2 meters x 93 cm multilevel showcase, fully glazed with light installed. Will take photos soon.

Also, some models in individual cases decorate my and parent's houses, and my office. Yet another model is decorating my boss'es worktable since yesterday.

I have my models on shelves over my bed. The lowest shelf doubles as a workbench so I can work on my models during my dialysis treatments (my kidneys don't work so I have to be on a machine six days a week to clean my blood). Working on ships (and other models) really helps pass the time during those long hours on the machine. (I took these pictures while I was on the machine)

p.s. If you are squeamish of blood, you might not want to look at the second picture.

I keep my finished models...and some in progress in a glass shelve display. Sadly the photo is not very good...taken with the webcam from the laptop.

I can really identify with this statement Foeth!
Maybe another forum topic can be "where do you display (or hide)
your 'unfinished' models! :heh:

Great idea for a topic Jim! :wave_1:

Thanks, Asiatic! I like to sit in the dark and look at them. :nod_2:

I am running out of room, fast, however.
