DrPR, thank you for the suggestion, I like the idea of the letters being completely painted on instead of just being the decals which could eventually flake off. I may employ this method soon. My other idea is to just make my lettering/designs in adobe and send them to a local print shop that can print white ink on clear decal paper.

Painted! Also, rudder and prop (both 3d printed) installed Does anyone have any tips on rigging the lifeboat davits?

That came out nice. Love the colours and also represents the rather crude shoebox shape of a typical car carrier. They are much more slender below the water line than anybody expects. I would add a little more detail to those lifeboats like name of the vessel, grab lines, SOLAS tape marks, it would add a lot to the quality. You could also add doors, but I guess it kind of late for that since they are already painted.

Hi Neptune! Although painted, the lifeboats were not finished in that picture. Here is where they are now. Almost ready for clear coat! I detailed them with a variety of photos I found of various modern era cargo vessel lifeboats - including the few pictures/frames I could find of the Modern Express's
I have taken some inspiration from your incredible 1/100 builds! Not many of us building the merchant vessels! The PCTCs are for sure unusually shaped
