Got the turrets assembled and detailed minus a couple little touch-ups here and there. I added the PE ladders and brass 5" barrels. Started working on the ASROC launcher last night and hope to get it cleaned up, primed, painted, and installed this weekend along with some rails and other details.

Was able to get a bit more done over the weekend. Got the stacks completed and installed, got the turrets installed, and started on some of the rails.

Did a little more PE work on the aft superstructure. Installed the ASROC launcher and scratched the deck supports with styrene I had. Started cleaning up some of the smaller detail parts and should have them ready soon.

Did a little more PE work on the sides. Still needs cleaned up, sanded a bit, and then paint touched up. Also started cleaning and prepping the parts for the aft radar tower and such.

Did some touch up sanding and painting. Added some rails to the forward superstructure and started working on the aft radar tower. Still cleaning up some of the detail parts and should be able to start adding them in a day or two.

Did more work on the aft radar tower and also did the flight deck decals and netting. The forward mast included in the kit is mostly unusable so I am going to be scratching most of it. The top section is great but the whole lower section is just terrible. I picked up some stuff at the hobby store today so I can start working on that tomorrow. I also have more PE to add in some areas and some of the finer detail parts to finish painting up and get installed. She is progressing at a good pace and so far, I am really enjoying my first resin build.

Flu bug has bitten everyone at home except me but still got a little done over the weekend. Need a little touching up but got the anchor chains installed and a little more detail work on the rear stack and radar platform. Started working on the new forward mast and should have some progress pics in a couple days.

Mike,
Coming along very nicely.
Thank you for all the detailed pictures.

Thanks Rob. I have been doing a bit of the detail work on her and have added a couple things that were not included in the kit. I made them from styrene rod and such. I have spent quite a bit of time constructing the new forward mast assembly from scratch. The one in the kit was just terrible and wrong as well. I should have pics of that process soon.

I finished up scratch building the new main mast. I did it with styrene rod of different sizes (2mm, 1mm, 0.5mm) plus some styrene sheet. I added some spare PE for the platforms and made the radar mounts from styrene rod. I also began adding more of the main deck railings this weekend but forgot to grab pics of those. Here are the pics of the mast construction and I should have additional pics of the hull and such in a couple days.

Here are the rest of the mast pics. This was my first time ever scratch building a mast assembly. It isn't perfect but I am very happy with how it turned out and I learned some good stuff. The only part I used from the kit was the top section that is mounted on the top platform. All the rest of the kit mast parts were trashed.

Did a little more detail work. Started on some of the rigging and antennas and did some more rail work. I ran out of Haze Gray paint but should have some more in a day or two and then more work.

My paint hasn't arrived yet but should be here this week. Added the rest of the main deck railings. Going to start working on more of the rigging tonight or tomorrow.

Did some work on the forward mast radars and such. My paint arrived so I have been cleaning up the hull a bit and getting ready for some touch-up work. Did a little more rigging work after I took these pics and hope to finish that and some other small detail stuff up tomorrow. Hoping to get the detail work done and start on the decals by next weekend.

Thanks gtbred
Did some more rigging, fine detail, and touch-up work tonight. Still need to make and add the antennas but should be ready for decals in a few days.

More detail work. Finished up the rigging and added the antennas. I forgot the one on top of the forward mast so I added that one after I took the pictures. Most of the touch-up work is done as well now. Going to try and get the decals on over the next couple days and then start working on the sea base for her.
