Thanks guys for the encouragement.
I think there is a natural tendancy with these things to not really tell too much about the setbacks, or the stuff ups -as this is going to take ages I think when it gets finished and I look back, it will lessen the journey if I dont tell it like it is.
Still cutting out frames when I can (in between work, war gaming, sermon preparation and that other thing called life (and wife and kid))
Already one frame I will have to re do - it seems to have warped a bit over the last week -grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
More photos when I get some more frames cut -probably Sunday arvo

Begin glueing up and squaring the frames over the next week or two .

My first real problem, the stern overhang wanted to twist a few millimetres as i put the frame longnitudes in -caught that in time though
The secret ,(well not so secret) lets get a fully equiped workshop plan as we go begins -the first of the purchases -some good clamps

Hull framing complete -photos tomorrow, no lights in my shed yet!
Turned hull over, and proved to myself -that yes -I can get it out of the shed! (just!)
Now to begin the planking of the hull -going to use the 3mm by 12.5 mm balsa strips method -thanks for the way ahead to the iron duke project -what a help.
Will be a 2 week hiatus as I need to spend the budget on this years footy membership first -so progress will slow to a crawl for the next week or so.
Im thinking for propulsion of using windscreen wiper motors -can get them very cheap - any one used the like before?

This is a challenging project . Have you given any thoughts as to transporting Yamato when completed. I know perhaps it's a long way down the line but time seems to move more rapidly when your enjoying yourself building the model?

First of all herbieham Welcome to the group of nuts that build big models. I'm Mick, the nut building the Admiral Kuznetsov at scale 1/72 - 4.2meters long. Same as you this is my first LARGE model and same as you you will find out down the track all the little things that can go right and wrong. I wish you all the luck and plan to watch your build as you go.
Good Luck
Mick
