I'm glad you've finally got one Mitch

it's understandable that you were excited

Keep it safe and build it when you feel ready, you'll know when.
Yes the white parts are scratch-built, it doesn't look too great at the moment but I'll start adding the details soon.
Cheers for looking in
Dave.

Hi Joe, thanks (didn't see you there).
This build is a bit on and off at the moment but here's the latest pictures.

I've scratch-built new boat deck sponsons (I hope that's the correct term, I've been building too many tanks lately). The Dutch style was much more angular than the rounded profile of the originals - and as depicted in the Heller kit. The port side sponsons also had shields fitted, I'm guessing to protect the boats from waves crashing against them. I've attempted to portray the shields as well.
The resin Island parts are still in the process of being cleaned up, still more work to be done on them yet. I've just tacked some of them together to see how it's all looking.
Cheers.

Hi Nicolas
I got my plans from this excellent Dutch site on the Karel Doorman. I would imagine the internal layout would be very similar for all ships of the Colossus class. The various links take you down through the decks.
