Re: Pontosmodel 1/350 USS Iowa Class Detail Up Sets
Pontos did their bridge windows based on the number of windows, which is 15 per side starting from the forwardmost corner. So in that they are correct. If they were to extend the width of each window to reach the aft corner of the plastic, then each window would start to look too "fat" (as it is, the windows are already wider than they should be). So the question becomes - is the Tamiya bridge too long?

Thank you Timmy. Very good question. Is the bridge too long? And I agree the windows should be more rectangular with long side vertical. I was sure the window count was accurate but was not sure if PONTOS is correct or if Tamiya is correct. Smacking head on table at a high rate of speed now. Well anyway, if you look at photos of the Wisky there are needed modifications to the bridge anyway. Maybe shortening of the bridge will be in order.

Re: Pontosmodel 1/350 USS Iowa Class Detail Up Sets
Hello Kim
I have brought up my old Tamiya Missouri from the basement, the 1945-1985 version, that I started building back than...The build was only about 30% complete and I hance was able to dismantle most of the parts. They are now lying in paint stripper and once clean shall be beefed up with PE, etc...
A question on your 1945 blue deck kit. Will this still go on after all the little parts on the deck have been glued on? I'm afraid I can not break all of those bits off without destroying them. If the wodden deck is not an option any more (I would not mind since I can airbrush it) could I purchase at least the dry transfers from your deck kit seprarately? Unfortunately Pontos does not have a 1/350 1945 PE set...that I otherwise would have bought.
thanks
Uwe

Re: Pontosmodel 1/350 USS Iowa Class Detail Up Sets
Hi
I have now simply bought the whole wooden deck for my Missouri...looking fwd to it! On another subject, if I remember correctly Pontos announced a full set for the 1945 Missouri as well? What ever happened to that? Getting the 1/200 one is size wise simply out of question
So please offer let us have a 1/350 set!
thanks
Uwe
