Thanks for the compliments, guys! Yes, its in a new house & is the result of 9 months of construction Chinese-style which I would never EVER go through again in this lifetime! You're right about giving me a few minutes to muck up the neat appearance - in between dealing with the installers last night, I was resuming work on Yamato while poring over plans & making a shopping list for my 1/72 Canonicus monitor build.

We moved from Shanghai at the end of January to Xiaoshan, a "suburb" of Hangzhou home of the famous West Lake, previous capitol to four dynasties & one of Marco Polo's favorite tourist spots. Rumor has it, it was the quality of the tea & the lovely ladies that sang in local teahouses that caught his interest... exactly the same attractions that captivated Chairman Mao a few centuries later. What I find more interesting is that Xiaoshan is the home of the world's first discovered boat dating back to 5500 BC & found on the shores of Xianglu Lake just a few minutes from here. I have to say its much more relaxing walking out of my bedroom & seeing bamboo on the hillside behind my house than the hundreds of concrete boxes that surrounded my apartment in Shanghai's Puxi. To give you folks a better idea of life here, I updated my profile to include my website so you can have opportunity to check out the neighborhood & some of what I do to stay sane over in this strange land.

As Guido knows, the welcome mat is out for anyone who may be passing through this way. Its a fascinating place to visit, & not a bad place to live & work if you are blessed with an abundant amount of patience. As Tom Bodett likes to say, "we'll leave the light on for you."

I whish I had something like that, i haven't taken any pictures of my workbench because i don't like to photograph my kitchen

I dare ya, I fact I double dare ya to post pictures as I bet my Kitchen is just as Nice as your's

Now I have 2 rooms where I could make a really nice work station and I have the extra desk and what not to do it. Maybe in another life time or something but the kitchen is comfy, water is handy and a refer full of beer helps.

Now the Bread Box is a great place to store paint and the lighting in great.

Note the Grey Pot on the stove is full of Parkerizing Solution, just some highly toxic chemical I use from time to time....it is normally out in the garage but I just finished a batch of bolts.

Reminds me when I was 15 & rebuilding a '61 MG Mk1 Midget my older brother had given my twin brother & I as our first car - it was a basket case after sitting in his garage for years & needed to be completely rebuilt.

To my mother's horror, she arrived home earlier than expected one afternoon & found me boiling the brake master & slave cylinders in her large soup pot while trying to rid them of the years of accumulated grime (I had run out of mineral spirits...). The rest of the kitchen was in rather pitiful shape as well since I had borrowed the kitchen table as my workbench was already covered with parts. Needless to say, the day sort of went downhill from there...

Dravian, Yes the lamp/magnifyer is definetely worth it. i got mine in a sale at Office Depot.

Here is 2 pictures of my model room, like you can see it's tight on my table
and on my back there are some tools which are very useful but messy... so voila .

The date are not good because I reset my camera whit out replace the date
