That s a good idea Simon. I found some years ago somebody that produced for me the various domes, radomes, antennas and RAM launchers that were not then available.

Also Pitroad released a special version of their weapon set with an extra couple of VLS launchers and 2 RAM systems. Perhaps this set would interest you.

That was Heiko s idea. All the stealth ships i have built so far.

Much as I would love to get my hands on that set, Nektarios, it would have been awesome incarnate if they actually had turned that into their standard production set - I would have been very interested in getting some of it, but it's already been discontinued, and finding it's hard. Ah well.

That s a nice collection of stealth warships Nektarios. Haven t you also built a Russian Neustrashimy class frigate?

Yes it is true Yianni but although Neustrashimiy has certain stealthy features it is not a totally stealthy design like the ones on the picture i posted. If i included Neustrashimiy i would have to do the same for the Arleigh Burke class which also has several stealthy features.

That makes sence Nektarios but you should include in your stealth ship collection a Novik class corvette.

Thanks for that Nektarios! Really interesting to see them all in one picture. One question though: Where did you come across that PLAN FAC? Until recently, I didn't even know that ship existed until I found some footage of it on Youtube and here you have it built. Awesome!

This is a ship that i will definitely buy. I ve been meaning to ask you this. Do you know what is the fire control system is for the AK-630s onboard Admiral Kuznetsov? I think that they are slaved to the CADS-N-1 system. Do you know anything about that ??

In fact i did not build it. It is a Takara ship from the submarines of the world series .

I do check ebay rather often lately but haven't come across anything as exotic as that, unfortunately. But I'll be on the watch out

I think you may be right Nektarios, since the the AK-630 CIWS control is done by MR-123-02 Fire Control Radar System and SP-521 Electrical-Optical Tracker on most ships that this CIWS is deployed. Admiral Kuznetsov and Neustrashimy do not have these systems.

Hmmm... this requires lots of research.

Well that answers the quick and dirty half of the question I had, guys - that being were there Bass Tilt radars somewhere on the Kuznetsov that I wasn't seeing.

I Love that Zumwalt on Steroids... it almost looks like a Japanese version of it with that bridge style, or a more practical, in service version of the Zumwalt.

Now to find a supply of modern exhaust stacks....

As to how many VLS - A Lot. If I'm going to do Modernized/Zipanged IJN Warships, there's going to be a fair few of those needed. I'm already working on a plan with Kidcurrie to get them produced, if he can't find something to make the master from kicking around, I'm going to pick up a Burke and send him the VLS from that to work from. I don't recall seeing a lip on the edge of the Burke's VLS - is there a raised lip, or would it be suitable to not have that lip so we can produce the 64-cell VLS alone and just chop it in half for 32-cells when needed. I'm just thinking in plans down the road, so to speak.

I didn't use a primer, this time. I don't plan to mask and paint anything on this one, so I only used the finish coat of Model Master Acrylic Neutral Gray and hand brushed Engine Gray on the decks. on the waterline models I've been using a Testors Gloss Black Ink Pen for the boot top instead of masking and painting it.

If I was going to use a primer, I'd probably use Mr. Surfacer. I've been given advice about some of the rough surfaces on my models. I guess that I need to thin the paint/primer and keep the nozzle of the air brush closer to the model to minimize the paint/primer from drying in between the air brush and the model. I've been keeping this in mind. I've had the same problem with my clear coats turning whitish because of the same incorrect technique. The whitish effect really shows up on the lower anti-fouling red on full hull models.
