There was also a World War One St. Vincent class battleship Vanguard that blew up due to an internal explosion, but I suspect this new Vanguard kit is the post-WW2 1950s one.

It seems like an odd position to place the model (on a windowsill high up on a multistory building). It makes me wonder how big companies lite Flyhawk are?
"Yeah guys, is it OK if I borrow our new test mold Bismarck, I am going to place it on the windowsill up on the 15th floor?
"Sure no problem."
You might be surprised at how small many modelling companies really are. Big premises are either an absolute necessity or a vanity project. Nobody with a brain actually wants a big building, and all costs associated with buildings are just dead money. Customers don't see/touch/grt anything at all from the premises - it's all about the product. A Flyhawk kit from a garden shed is preferable to a Lindberg kit from a big executive building with a big water fountain in the reception area :)

There has been talk about Trumpeter/Hobbyboss releasing a 1/350 Nelson and Rodney since 2015 and nothing has happened beyond them being listed as 'New' in Trumpeter's catalogue for the last couple of years.

I'll get excited about a 1/350 Vanguard (in an 'as commissioned' configuration) by Hobbyboss when I see the kit/box on the shelf of my local hobby store.

I have been waiting to see those come out, too. Most of the time we have to keep waiting though. I am creating a small kit myself, and I realised how much effort and time is needed. :dead: Though it might be a different story with the large-scale companies.

Teasing people again :bash_2:

You never confirmed the next one :heh:

potchip wrote:Meh, Veryfire is planning 1/350 Montana/H39, so as expected the typical 'up-sized' version of the most commonly built ship kits are the go. I hope some of you are happy now and can leave us in peace.

Just don't confuse moving blocks from a middling middle class suburb of Bismarck/Yamato/Missouri akin to suddenly joining the high society though., there are too many truly exotic subjects pre-WWI that probably will never be kitted, sadly.

Not going to buy any Veryfire kits myself, partly lack of interest in their choice of subjects and partly a lack of faith in their research. Comparing them to Flyhawk is chalk to cheese, one pays attention to research and the other produce stuff for the sake of...it, like their detail sets that beyond 'value for money' & 'lots of brass/bits' don't stand up to too much scrutiny.

Hey Bob, you didn't see the Flyhawk posting (p 104 of this thread)? It's TWO Dorsetshire's now on the way - once again Aoshima goes head to head with the master of model makers! I'd think chances are though that the Aoshima kit will be out first.

Chances are it will be out first, cheaper, and more than "good enough" for us mortals that just want a County on the shelf rather than going for a masterclass. So I'm very happy with this announcement, will be buying this one when its out :thumbs_up_1:
