I also took a couple of photographs of both ships together so far:







Of course, this will look different with masts, spars, sails etc. in place. The empty corners will house pieces of masts and other wreckage, crew clinging to that, and small boats trying to rescue them.



Both hulls will of course sit in the water deeper: about were the yellow resin of Victory�s hull ends.

I�m pretty happy with this scale for this subject. It is big enough to include a fair amount of detail, but small enough to remain manageable as a diorama:

Ditto. Not only the scene is absolutely inspiring, but also your solutions are going beyond the beyonds. To build this hull from scratch is something I dare not dream with for the moment, for example.
I am really curious about how you are going to make the complicated rigging of these ships in this scale.

Interesting to see that the main difference in size is in the freeboard Victory being a three-decker, Redoutable a two-decker.

Yes, the first rate is a bit longer and beamier than the third rate, but the difference is not so big.
But one deck more made quite a difference. This actually caused Redoutable considerable difficulty, and without it it's crew might have been able to board and overtake Victory.

This experience seems to have have had a surprisingly long term effects. When the RN started to cut down twodeckers and armoring them 55 years later there was substantial resistance to this idea as a 'wooden wall' was thought be able to overpower an ironclad by boarding. Very nice builds BTW.

Marijn did not start out as human. He started out made of wood. Geppetto taught Pinnochio amazing carving and hand-working skills, every bit of magical artistry and brilliance he knew. Then, Pinnochio became a real boy:

... and he always was good in doing miraculous kit bashings: he build a La Sirene out of a Vickers Armstrong Wellington kit !!!
