It is a shame she did not get too wet, but she is looking mighty fine anyway.

Keep up the good work. I am trying to get my self motivated again with Varyag, but after this last trip away it has been hard to pick up steam again.

I heard on the grape vine there is a possibility to see you in Canberra later this year. I hope it comes true. I will have the Admiral there for sure, 70% chance of running under her own steam by then.

Hi Mick good to see an update . Aviation , now that's a good indicator , I just drool at the SU 27 and Mig 29 they will look superb on the competed model .PRESS ON

What is it going to be when it grows up .

A few mentioned the height of the bow out of the water.
Most ships will pass UNDER the bow height , only USS Long Beach and HMAS Melbourne which was there would clear the height.
So I guess by that most ships will steer well away for this ship when it's on the water.

Kuznetsov has come to a complete halt due to a move I had to make this year from Sydney to a place called Wagga Wagga. So since July 2011 there has been no work.
Had to pack up everything then ship it south. During the move the ship was flooded with over 20 Liters of water. Lucky it did no damage that I could see. For the last 4 months I have been trying to get a shed made and finally 2 weeks ago completed but with no drainage of electricity. I hope early next year to restart the project.
Now that I'm broke I have to find some way to continue work on this project.
One thing I'm very lucky with and that is I have moved into an area of Australia with a VERY HIGH concentration of 1/72 Model Aircraft Carriers. USS Enterprise, Kiev class carrier, Shinano, HMAS Melbourne, USS Lexington just to name a few. There are over 9 carriers now in Wagga including mine.

Hi Mick Good to see you back on the board .I guess Wagga is the home of the carrier model!!! or should that be models. Clad you have come through your move without to much of a problem.

Since around June 2011 I haven't touched the Admiral Kuznetsov. Had to move out of Sydney and move to a place called Wagga. The model was stored and various places and covered with a blue tarp. Unfortunately the weather was well against me with some really hot days followed by weeks of rain. When I was bale to check my model and empty the water out was surprised how she was weathering the storage. Before she left Sydney I emptied her out of water inside the model, 10 - 15 liters of water at any given time, but when I had her here in Wagga we had some real stormy weather. One one occasion I even managed to empty over 20L - 25L, now that scared the :censored_2: outa me. When I finally got the ship to its new home I was disappointed that during its storage time the fiberglass parts attached to the hull have started to warp. It will be able to be repaired but I had to build a shed to store the model and have to pay it off first. Great shed 6 X 7 meters, now I have a great workshop area and its now being fitted out. I hope to get back to her soon.

I too am in the shed planning stages. Did you line your shed, I am assuming a tin shed? How will it get on in the very hot and very cold days in Wagga?

Yes Andrew it's insulated and 6X7m in size. Currently working on getting power to where I need it. And also Air con ASAP. Bloody hot here.

Well people it's been a while but I have finally restarted the project. You wouldn't believe what I have been through to get this far. Anyway here are a few pictures and hopefully not the last. The pictures I have attached are of a wall but had to clamp like crazy due to sitting for long periods in Hot and freezing conditions.
Memo; Don't stop your project unless you don't have a choice and second watch your temps where you store your model.

OK for the people that have asked what is happening to the model of my Admiral Kuznetsov 1/72.
Here is an update. Over the last few days I have been laying up deck panels of Fiberglass sheets 1 meter square.
When they are cleaned and squared away I will post the next update. Sorry no pictures but it's hard enough laying up 5 sheets and 1 foam core making the deck quite thick.
There is a bit of warping but it should be manageable. Once its screwed in place it (Fingers crossed) should be fine.
