The Flyhawk upgrade set is indeed superb. But it cost arround 100 euros thats more than 100 dollars. If you want a cheap alternative, check this one:

Re: Calling all MN Richelieu & Jean Bart fans
I heard there was a couple of issues with the Le arsenal set , the post in the gallery with the Richelieu at the dock (waterlined ) - amazing build if I may add - the builder mentions a thing or two . Would they have corrected the set do you think ?

Re: Calling all MN Richelieu & Jean Bart fans
Hi Atma , I fear to say my Richelieu project is still in the looking at and thinking about stage ( like a lot of them
) , a USS Arizona 1916 backdate of the Banner 1/350 kit is using up alot of my model building hours. The fact that I build sci fi as well is not an advantage either ! My plan is to get a hold of the flyhawk set and go from there, otherwise I will build out of the box with less involved photo etch and save some intensity for my 1/350 Akagi or the like.

Are there any books with plenty of reference photos available on the Richelieu? It's most likely going to be my next battleship build.

Dumas, Robert (2001) (in fr). Le cuirass Richelieu 19351968. Nantes: Marine ditions. ISBN 978-2-909675-75-6.
and
John, Jordan; Robert, Dumas. French battleships 1922-1956. Seaforth Publishing. ISBN 978-1-84832-034-5.
Those two books will help you a lot. Plus there is a plenty of pictures in this thread.

Re: Calling all MN Richelieu & Jean Bart fans
Hi there , if one was to use a set of generic hand rails for this build , would this be suitable ?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1029973554
Were the radars on the Richelieu French design ?
just giving the thread a bump too
cheers Jay

last saturday we did have our meeting from the MMI. The weather was good only the wind was to strong for the small ships. The Jean-Bart was handling good without any problems.

Re: Calling all MN Richelieu & Jean Bart fans
Long time ago I saved the plans for Richelieu that was available in the site
http://www.servicehistorique.sga.defens ... php?id=227
..........so I consider the plans are not copyrighted.
As the site is OFF, I put the files here for you to download:
http://depositfiles.org/files/kptczadgg
In general it said these plans are "as built" but some sheet has alterations as in 1943 ( not all characteristics ), see the named as RICHELI1940PL3933
