Timmy, you may want to update your list in the first post with this release date:

There are some Facebook pages, which can be accessed without having a Facebook account. I have no account (and there are plenty of reasons not having one and the number of reasons increased dramatically recently) and I could see the photos.
Indeed - I always check to make sure any FB links I post here can also be viewed by folks without accounts.

Thanks for the catch, Quaestor.

At first glance these Aoshima Flower class kits ...
Image
... remind me of IBG's RN/ORP Hunt class escorts. That is, with the Aoshima SP kits including PE just as the standard IBG kits do. I wonder if Aoshima could be paying enough attention to a newbie in this scale as to try and get into their market niche?
Soon after IBG announced their upcoming RN destroyers, I exchanged emails with Adam there to thank him for that news and ask if maybe a Conrad or Dragon would be next :heh:
He replied that their next planned releases would be RN; but smaller ships.
I immediately thought corvettes, sloops (read: HMS Starling), what else?
Most likely a coincidence; but I wonder.

The Exeter without IJN destroyer is up at Hobbysearch. This is the Atlantic Fleet convoy version, and INCLUDES two Flower class corvettes. Seems I'm going to end up with a lot of Exeters if they don't issue the Flowers separately some day.

Reason: Added link: the Flowers include PE and come in two variants!

Wait...

Does this mean that the Aoshima Exeter is in a different outfit than when it was Sunk in the Pacific?

Does this mean the Niko version is still the best version of her in the 1942 outfit?

Why did I think Flyhawk did an Exeter? Be nice if they did... And an Australia and Canberra.

Aoshima sent me information a couple of days ago. The 'Atlantic' version is the same fit (same kit). There may be a different version later but as has already been pointed out above; thats a considerably different requirement to tool

No, the Niko Model kit has several problems, e.g. symmetric 4 in gun positions and a too high bridge. Also the ROP o.s. Samek Models kit has some issues (e.g. the shape of the catapult and some error regarding the positions of the forward turrets), but is better than the Niko Model kit.

I didn't see any new upcoming releases in the Meng section on Timmy C's list on page 1 of this thread since he hasn't updated for a while.

Does anyone know if there will be Meng 1/700 Tirpitz since they have already released a 1/700 Bismarck first?

I am hoping they release one that's not plagued with errors as the Aoshima or Trumpeter Tirpitz which are essentially just re-boxed Bismarcks. Especially since it was pointed out in the "Calling Bismarck class fans thread" that there were some unique deck features of Tirpitz that were only represented by the Revell kits so far. (and I'm not sure if I want to cut down a full-hull model of a Revell Tirpitz when I prefer waterline)

There was nothing special about the Meng Bismarck, except for the price, which seemed to be quite high compared to Dragon (which also contained a lot of PE. And from the publicity photos, the basic Dragon Bismarck is better than Mengs. I think Revell, and Trumpeter, Bismarcks compare favorably with Meng's, only cheaper. I'm sure of the same with any Meng Tirpitz.

This from Pitroad : https://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/r2kjj ... ddydc.html

I'm somewhat surprised by the price considering i purchased the 25mm open mount from HLJ for $39: https://hlj.com/product/PITG-47

I'm hoping that Pitroad continue with these, I'd love a 12.7 duel mount, but given the cost of the Yamato mount, I'm terrified of what the price might be.

I think that there is a model of the Space Battleship Montana. There were some Gashapon Models for Uuchu Senkan Yamato Manga that included things like the Arizona, Izumo, St. Louis, Kong?, Iowa, and other members of the second generation Wave Motion Drive ships that were built between the two seasons.

But they had a model of the Space Battleship Montana, that had four Wave Motion Guns at the bow.

Why you would ever need more than one Wave Motion Gun is a good question, given the canon... but they went with two on the Andromeda, and then kept adding more as they faced more advanced opponents.

The PoW that Flyhawk already has out is the 12/41 outfit that she was sunk with, no?
