I took the GMM air wing PE and doubled the props, I have the other e-2 below deck so that has the plastic props from Trumpeter Kit. Next adventure will be the EA6's then the F-18's I want to lave the F-14s till last. Starfighter gives so many options for the 14s I do not know what I am going to do.

I actually looked at the 1/700 eight bladed Sub props, close to the shape but a little big, Hopefully Loren at GMM will update his set at some point(please)

Some in progress photos of Towada. Most of the work is finished but there are some corrections i have to make (most of them invisible to the naked eye but visible to the digital camera photos).

Does anyone know which are the Desron decals provided with the DML kit??? I can recognise one of them as Desron ten. What about the other two???

Here is some progress on my latest project, USS Ingraham. I am doing a slight 'What if' by putting 8 Cell Mk 41 for ESSM forward of the Mk13, which is still there, but with SM-2 and Harpoon, and having 2 Bushmasters either side by the Torpedo tubes. Not sure if I'm going to change the 2-D Radar to a 3-D one yet. I was thinking of changing the Phalanx for RAM, but given the ESSM at the bow, I thought it would be a bit overkill (most real world navies would probably fit one or the other, not both!).

I did my own what-if conversion of the Perry class by adding 32 VLS cells and a RAM system in place of the Mk-13. a 3-D radar and some additional electronics. ESSM is replacing Standard SM-1 (in 16 of the cells---> 64 missiles) and the other 16 cells are used for Harpoon Block II (8 cells----> 16 missiles) and VL ASROC.

Thanks-I sort of based my ideas around what the Aussies did to their OHPs, and I took it from there. On the 3-D radar front i'm thinking of something more modern than the AN/SPS-48. Artisan ir SMART-S is more up my street!

I used AN/SPS-52 since i thought AN/SPS-48 would have been too heavy.

Hmmmm....but the -52 is a bit of a retrograde step if you ask me, given -48 was its replacement. It can be the last thing I add so I have some time to ponder about it.

My conversion was an early-mid 1990s program. At that time 52s were available due to the retirement of CFAs. -52 was not a bad radar 48 was just better and it wouldn t be possible to mount an 48 on a Perry foremast due to its weight.

The Japanese version of SPS-52 is still in service onboard older JMSDF DDGs

I see, in the vein of SpruCans getting VLS sort of upgrade........

Nice Ingraham, Mathew! I found that round decal on the forward deck to be a pain, how about you?

I built the Ingraham kit early 2008. It was about my third model after getting into this obsession. I'm not very proud of it. I'm not happy with the mast and flagstaff and the paint color. I used Light Ghost Gray on it. Too, blue looking. The water is the best part of it. I keep it on the back shelf along with the first USS Iowa that I made. I still plan to donate them to a local USN recruiting station.

I built another DRAGON OHP as the USS Sides FFG-14. It turned out much better than my Ingraham.
