Wonderful news Bill...may she continue to recover quickly. Having your love and support has surely helped her through this.

Hello all. I sincerly appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from all over the world from you folks. This will be difficult for me but here goes. CIC has been diagnosed with lung cancer. At what stage it is we do not yet know. She was told, or asked this morning as to her condition and was informed. She does not know that we know. We knew a few days ago. We will tell her tommorrow. I am living a nightmare. I feel I'm gonna wake up and all will be well. Not the case. I had to go back to work Monday and it is very difficult to keep my mind there much less on the Indiana, which is what this thread should be about. Perhaps I should ask Cadman to move it to "Friends and Family"?? No sense continuing this bad news here. I gotta deal with this as best I can. I do not wish to drag all with me into this mess. On a better note, she is alert, awake and on solid food and all the doctors are very happy with her progress in spite of everything else. Hopefully this can be controlled somewhat for however long. Some people beat this, some don't. I am lost. I keep praying, although I'm not very good at it. I am getting better at it.I don't have many options at this point. I guess we wait...................Thank you all again. Bill W.

sorry to hear the news bill, we all understand that its hard on you and we dont expect you to continue the thread...

Take your time and do whatever you need to do to keep going through this terrible time. You and your family will continue to be in our hearts and prayers, the lord works in mysterious ways and perhaps a miracle will happen.

Rest up Bill, and Good Luck with everything. If you ever need anything just let us know, either on here or by PM.
It's not who you are, but what you do that defines you.

I think Kenny has said all that's need to be said. Don't give up hope, but remember, whatever will be, will be.

In spite of all that is going on,.............. I WILL CONTINUE WITH THE BUILD. CIC would want me to do that. I am just freaking out a bit and getting too much ahead of things. Let's wait and see. I'm OK. I must carry on whatever happens............... I lose it occasionally and then post when I should not do that. I must keep a level head. I WILL. Keep the prayers coming. Don't think that this is it. I've come this far, and she WILL go with me to deliver the ship. You guys want to see it done, don't ya????? Well,OK. Like the Admiral said,"I would bury myself in the ship".................. Perhaps that is what I should do............ I did not mean to imply stopping this build. Just a little break. Hang with me....... Like I said, we are all brothers...................I WILL CONTINUE ON......... :|

Bill,

Have confidence in God and His will. However difficult it maybe, He knows better.
And remember that true friends are not only for the ship-and-beer moments. Dire moments have to be shared as well.
Very best regards to your CIC as well,

Willie.

Yes that is some sad news, but at least there is still hope! I hope that with the fine American medical treatment it is possible to help her through! My thoughts are with you and your wife. The build is far from important at this point.

Hello again all :wave_1: ! Well, some good news finally. CIC being moved out of ICU tonight. We are all on the same page now, so that is much less of a burden to carry on her own. She is sitting up, eating well, breathing well and most important really looks better. I may get her home by Saturday, although I tend to think it will be early next week. She wants to come home as you can well imagine. I told her about all of you and your kind words and prayers and thoughts. She says Thank-You!!As for myself, I can't tell you how much your thoughts and words have helped me thru this difficult time. I wish we could all meet someday. That would be great!! What a party we would have!! Anyway, I thought I would share this news with all of you. By the way, here she is next to the USS Alabama just a couple months ago.............................

She is one of a kind. Still much to find out, but things are looking up. They saved her life. All the prayers have sure helped too. I am doing better. Still a bit on edge. Stay tuned............. I continue on........... :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :lol_spit_1: :lol_spit_1: :lol_spit_1:
