Pretty awesome video. And of course pretty awesome models starring in it. If you'd drive that car, I understand what the problem is for transporting your model Looks like your Brisbane is longer than that black car... (although still cheaper I assume, or should I say, "less expensive"?).

So the VLS you have onboard now is a mock-up and the working one is still off? Or is this the working one, but just not hooked up to electronics yet?

I am not sure if the boys in Perth have received their micro rocket motors yet....Scott was having all kinds of fun trying to find a transport company that would ship the motors Rob (owner of the Kirov and Roosevelt) had bought (since they are classed as dangerous goods) from Adelaide to Perth! One mob wanted 600bucks to ship a 6" x6"x6" box that weighs stuff all!!

Haha thanks yeah that's not mine. If I drove a british sports car it would have to be either an Aston Martin or one of those cool looking Morgan's my main car is a Ford Falcon G6 - think the size of a large Mercedes sedan. Brisbane can fit in there but I have to take all the superstructure off first though. The car I use most of the time to transport Brisbane is a 4wd with the rear seats taken out so I can slide Brisbane straight in without worrying about the height or length, not as comfy as my G6 though haha.

The VLS is just the dummy one on there ATM, I've found a couple places in perth that do stock the micro rocket motors but like Bruce mentioned, in Australia some of these motors are class as dangerous firearms. I haven't looked into it proper as yet but I'm sure the ones if need don't require a special permit to buy and use, just have to be over 18 (not a problem there) and have ID etc

My small crew arrived! These are 1/72 gunthwaite RAN modern figures 1&2. They're not too bad, clean and decent detailed sailors in the RAN DPNU working uniforms (disruptive pattern navy uniform). The pattern is the same as the army 'can't see me suits' but in a mixture of greys and some green mixed in. The only disappointing but is that in a pack of 3 figures on 1 is wearing a baseball cap and the others are wearing the wide brimmed sun hats. Sailors do wear both but the ball caps are definitely the preferred choice of headwear. Nonetheless once painted up I think they look pretty cool. Some even have sunnies! (Sunglasses)

I've been trying to find some suitable hand wheels for the various fire hose valve connections and came across these 1/72 modern USN carrier deck tie downs from BNA models in Melbourne. They're about 3mm diameter and perfect for the valve hand wheels and of course the flight deck tie downs. For the tie downs id originally just drilled a slight indent into the deck without thinking about actually putting in tie downs as from a distance that's what they look like anyway but now it's just finished them off







Also picked up these cool D shackles. They're actually for 1/35 tanks but perfect for my mooring buoy

Wow! What an awesome build, so detailed and a great tribute to the real HMAS Brisbane AWD.
I think I spent nearly two hours reading (drooling, lol) over the 13 pages of this build. Great to see the craftsmanship, inspiring!
